Leg #1 - Chepstow, 13:27: Princess Day to Finish Top 2 @ 1/41.25
Princess Day holds genuine claims of striking first-time-out over hurdles for trainer Jeremy Scott. The grey mare landed a point-to-point prior to winning a course flat event. She followed up by making all of the running under a penalty at Newbury. Her subsequent midfield effort came in a Graded event. She brings notable bumper form to this race and may have a touch of class, if jumping soundly. I'm hopeful that schooling has gone well as she hails from an astute yard, and she can finish in the first two placings.
Leg #2 - Goodwood, 14:22: War Chest to Finish Top 2 @ 8/111.73
War Chest arguably arrives with the best form, thanks to a pair of podium finishes from his two starts to date. He belied a big price on debut at Ascot before displaying ability at Newbury. He finished ahead of the re-opposing Cornichon that day, and this time has a 2lb pull in the weights, so I am hopeful of confirming the form. The Saxon Warrior colt should be capable of going close, once more, in this small field.
Leg #3 - Naas, 15:05: Faiyum to Finish Top 3 @ 2/51.40
Faiyum is the obvious favourite for this Listed prize over a mile. The daughter of Frankel is already a Group 3 scorer and has three career wins to her name. She has by far the best form in the race, with a huge second to subsequent Group 1 winner, Miss Scott, at Curragh on her penultimate outing. A reproduction of that fine effort ought to suffice here, and I feel she deserves to be shorter in the market.
Leg #4 - Goodwood, 16:07: Royal Acclimation to Win @ 8/131.61
Royal Acclimation hasn't put a hoof wrong in a trio of placed runs despite not registering a win. The Godolphin-owned Zarak colt has course form, having run a good second behind a next-time-out Group 2 third at this venue. He followed that up with an honest runner-up spot at Haydock behind a highly touted horse, who holds a Group 1 entry. I envisage the selection having too much for his opposition, with Billy Loughnane in the saddle for the first time.
