Horse Racing Tips: Sweet on a Candy sprinter for Saturday 66/1 each-way multiple

• Two Extra Place Specials with four places tipped

• Glendown can gain revenge on stablemate

• Follow a sprinter on the up at Sandown

Beverley - 15:15 - Back Glendown

Beverley's 15:15 5f Handicap is one of the Extra Place Specials on the Sportsbook with four places, and Glendown at 13/27.50 is just about acceptable in terms of going for the each-way angle.

Trained by Tim Easterby, the Yorkshire handler is double-handed for this with Hardy Angel 11/26.50 too, who had a few of today's rivals behind last time, and Glendown was one of them.

He finished with a bit of running left and didn't get a totally clear shot, and while it could be difficult again with a wide draw in 10, revenge would be quite sweet over his stablemate.

The 3yo did win from the front at Ripon earlier in the season and he'll have his ground today if it stays on the good side.

Sandown - 17:20 - Back Simple Man

Simple Man was a horse I put up in one of the recent ante-post columns standing in for Tony Calvin last month, and I was very keen on his chances when entered for a Newbury race. He didn't turn up for that, so it's good to see him finally out today in the closing Sandown race.

He's only had had three starts in his career to date and looked a horse with a bit of promise on debut last year at Nottingham - and Henry Candy said afterwards he was looking to go up in class with the sprinter.

The 3yo was also Candy's first 2yo winner last term, and he wouldn't have many that are sharp enough to win first-time out.

Upped in class on his second start in 2022, he ran in Listed company at Doncaster, but it was all a bit too much for him, especially on heavy.

He was seen at Goodwood 119 days ago for his only start of this year, and again he faced heavy conditions. And while he ran well in the tough terrain, he had to much to do over the 5f from a position in rear.

With 5f today with better ground at a stiffer track, he could turn out a little better than an 82-rated sprinter.
