Timeform pick out three bets from Newcastle and Nottingham on Friday...
"The selection boasts a nice blend of early pace but also stamina for the 500m trip..."
The opening race of Newcastle's afternoon card at 14:08 provides bet number one, with ALNWICK KEIRA (T4) taken to stamp her authority on the contest early. The selection has mixed graded races with handicaps of late without any joy, but this doesn't look a strong A6 race on paper.
Over to Nottingham's evening RPGTV meeting for the remaining two wagers, with KIRKFIELDS WISPA (T1) a very interesting runner in the 18:22 affair. She couldn't get a clear run at racing to end 2017, but she possesses plenty of early pace for a four-bend performer and there has to be a chance that she will build up a nice lead against this bunch (worth pointing out that she was A3 class at her peak).
The 19:58 contest has an open look to it, so finding the winner should lead to a reasonable rate of return, and TOWNSIDE VIKING (T4) could well be the answer. The selection boasts a nice blend of early pace but also stamina for the 500m trip, and the 31.16 effort she posted on the clock last month would win most races in this grade.
