Good Current Form
Scottie Scheffler @ 11/26.50: Despite only winning once in 2026, the current world No 1 is rarely out of contention. In addition to his solitary triumph back in January, the American has posted four podium finishes, and this week goes in search of the one major title that still eludes him.
Matt Fitzpatrick @ 22/123.00: The hottest golfer around right now, as he enjoys the season of his life. Currently tops the FedEx Cup standings for 2026, thanks to three PGA Tour wins and two other runner-up finishes, the latest of these arrived in Canada over the weekend. Is the US Open champion from 2022.
Wyndham Clark @ 33/134.00: The 2023 US Open champion has rediscovered his mojo after experiencing a mini-slump during the past year. The former world No 3 returned to the winners' enclosure at The CJ Cup in Texas, followed by another podium finish seven days later. Tied-11th in Toronto on Sunday.
Strong US Open History
Rory McIlroy @ 12/113.00: Amazing to consider that the 37-year-old's first major crown was the US Open 15 years ago. Since then, there have been two painful runner-up finishes in this event, along with five T10s.
Xander Schauffele @ 20/121.00: In nine US Open starts, his worst finish is tied-14th. Seven US Open top-10s in all for the two-time major champion from 2024. And there have been six top-10s from his nine most recent PGA Tour starts.
Shinnecock Hills
Tommy Fleetwood @ 20/121.00: When the US Open was last staged at this week's venue Shinnecock Hills, the Englishman closed with a 63 to finish runner-up, one shot adrift of champion Brooks Koepka. His form this year has been mixed, although three of his last four starts have yielded top-12 finishes.
Other considerations
Justin Rose @ 35/136.00: Fast becoming the best current golfer only to have won one major championship, which happens to be the US Open 13 years ago. In all has posted 25 top-10s in majors and the world No 7 is already a winner on Tour this year, enjoying a seven-stroke victory at Torrey Pines.
Tyrrell Hatton @ 35/136.00: Arrives in New York on the back of an LIV Tour victory in Spain. Tied-fifth at Shinnecock seven years ago and stood on the podium at this year's Masters.
