Hero World Challenge at Albany 2025 - Contenders based on current form

Robert MacIntyre @ 10/111.00

If anyone is going to stop the defending champion then the Betfair market reckons it is the Scottish player. He finished seventh here last year and arrives in 2025 off the back of consecutive top 10s. It is only two months since he won the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

Hideki Matsuyama @ 16/117.00

This is an appealing price for a player who arrives in decent nick and has performed well in the Hero in the past. The Japanese star was fifth last time out and seventh prior to that at the Genesis Championship. He hasn't participated in the Hero since 2018 but he did win it in 2016.

Alex Noren 18/119.00

With current form fairly thin on the ground this week, it is worth noting Alex Noren arrives on the back of two consecutive top 20 finishes. He has missed the Hero in recent years but he finished eighth last time he did play it in 2018 and 12th prior to that.

Hero World Challenge at Albany 2025 - Contenders based on course form

Scottie Scheffler @ 13/82.63

The world number one is seeking to win the tournament for the third consecutive year - a Hero hat-trick no less. Prior to his twin triumphs he finished runner-up two years on the trot. He simply loves this event which is why he goes off as such a short price favourite.

Justin Rose 18/119.00

The Englishman is another who loves playing the Hero, finishing in the top 10 on his last five visits and once ending the tournament in third place. Last time we saw him was at the DP World Tour Championship where Rose finished an impressive ninth.

Sepp Straka 22/123.00

The Austrian was runner-up in 2023 and finished in the top 10 again a year ago. With another previous top 10 finish, he will believe he has the game to challenge at the top of the leaderboard again in 2025. He most impressive recent performances where at the Scottish Open, where was seventh, and his third-placed finish at this year's Memorial Tournament.
