The Swede is the pre-tournament favourite this week and, with recent performances reading 4-8-4, it is no surprise. There is no course form to go on for Aberg but he has the momentum and looks likely to be a contender again.
The American was one those tied for fourth at the US PGA Championship and, with a 13th-place finished prior to that at the Truist Championship, looks to have his sight set on a 17th PGA Tour title. He finished 10th here in 2020.
The 29-year-old was tied for second at Aronimink and that performance did not come from nowhere. He has made the top 10 at three of his last four events and was runner-up at the Valero Texas Open last month.
Course Form Picks
Last year's winner returns to Colonial in decent form, following a 14th-place finish at the US PGA. He was third in Miami earlier this month too, so don't be surprised if he makes a decent defence this week.
The Scot arrives in poor form, following a missed cut at Aronimink, and hasn't finished inside the top 20 since he was tied for second at the Valero Texas Open. That result, however, and his sixth-place finish last year indicates that this could be his week to bounce back.
The 37-year-old finished 16th here last year and sixth in 2023 so has some affinity for Colonial. Put aside his 60th at the US PGA and he's playing well too, with three consecutive top 10 finishes prior to that, including second at the Truist Championship.
