Back to the USA for the PGA Tour
After a short break in the UK for last week's Open Championship the PGA Tour is back in the USA for the 3M Open.
For all the info on the event, read Steve Rawlings' in-depth preview here. Below we pick six players identified as either showing good current or course form.
3M Open - Three players in good form to consider
Scottie Scheffler
While he hasn't got over the line ahead of the filed for a while, Scheffler continues to finish high up the field. His fourth at The Open made it three top fives in his last four appearances. Scheffler is favourite again but rightly so.
Lucas Glover
Glover was getting hot before The Open with successive top five finishes at the John Deere and ISCO Championships. Can he keep it going? Those good results broke a very ordinary run. it'll be interesting to see how he fares at the 3M.
Jordan Smith
The form may be more modest - T21 and T18 at the Scottish Open and The Open - but Smith has shown he can perform outside his homeland with numerous high finishes in the US this year, the best being a third at the Valspar.
3M Open - Three course lovers to consider
Kurt Kitayama
Kitayama showed his liking for the course with a sixth on his 2024 debut which he turned into a win at his next visit. Two appearances, two top 10s one of which was a win. You can't ask for better 3m opeb form that that!
Sam Stevens
Runner-up to Kitayama last year, Stevens had shown his appreciation for the layout with a 10th place in 2023. In between those two results he finished down in 64th but his liking for the course is clear.
Tony Finau
Another former winner is Tony Finau who finished top of the pack in 2022. Alongside that he has two further top 10s, most recently a seventh in 2023. Around those good results he has regularly finished high up in the field. Although seemingly on the downgrade, a return to a course he enjoys could see Finau go close again.
