BMW Championship tips and predictions

The Punter's Preview: Back Scheffler to win again

Steve Rawlings: It took Scottie Scheffler seven months and 17 starts to win his second title of the year following his four-stroke victory in The American Express in January but he claimed his 21st PGA Tour title in style on Sunday, romping to an eight-stroke victory at the FedEx St Jude Championship and he's been playing nicely for the majority of 2026.

His tee-to-green game has been exceptional all year, but the big recent change has come on the greens.

He hinted at an improvement with the putter at the 3M Open where he finished second a couple of weeks ago, ranking seventh for Strokes Gained: Putting and third for Putting Average.

That was his best SG: Putting ranking since he won the Open last year ranking second and his best PA ranking since he topped the rankings when winning The American Express. As it transpired, it wasn't a one-off as he ranked first for SG: Putting and fourth for PA in Memphis last week.

A repeat of anything close to those numbers will see him defend the title and I was more than happy to back him at 4.3 given how often we've witnessed back-to-back winners in the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Each-way Picks: Back US Open champ to relish Bellerive

Dave Tindall: Few have played as well over the last three months as Wyndham Clark and Bellerive should be up his street. The American had a superb run through May and June, winning the US Open and the CJ Cup Byron Nelson as well as adding third at Memorial and fifth at the Travelers.

His streak of top 15s actually extended to six when adding in 11th at the Canadian Open and 13th at the Scottish Open before he suffered back-to-back missed cuts at The Open and the Rocket Classic.

However, normal service was resumed with tied fifth at St. Jude last week and I expect Clark to kick on again here. He's a strong performer on Bentgrass greens and the season-long stats show him 23rd for SG: Putting, 22nd for Approach and in the top 40 for Driving Distance.

First Round Leader Picks: Chance Woodland to make a fast start

Dave Tindall: As a major winner who gives it a severe whack, Gary Woodland matches the profile of the players who shone at Bellerive in the 2018 US PGA.

In fact, he was actually one of them, his sixth place finish a nice marker before he would go on and capture the US Open at Pebble Beach less than a year later.

Woodland was the 18-hole leader in the 2018 US PGA here and still led at the halfway mark.

Fast forward to 2026 and Woodland has been inside the top 10 after round one in eight of his last 13 starts, a sequence that started at the Houston Open which he went on to win.

In his last two events, he's been second (3M Open) and 10th (St. Jude) after the first lap so Woodland has a nice profile in this market.

He hits away alongside Adam Scott at 09:36 local.

BMW Championship 2026: Form stats

Current Form Pick: The American was tied for third at TPC, just as he was at The Open last month, so he is definitely knocking on the door for a victory. Of all the players in this week's field, he is fifth for points accumulated since March.

Nexo Championship tips and predictions

The Punter's Preview: Jarvis can land the treble

Steve Rawlings: This looks like a great opportunity for South Africa's Casey Jarvis to win his third DP World Tour event.

The 23-year-old won his first two tournaments back-to-back in Kenya and South Africa back in February and he traded at a low of just 1.774/5 to win for a third week in-a-row when finishing second at the Joburg Open.

He's been fairly lightly raced since then without much success but he hinted at a return to form when he finished tied 21st at the Scottish Open and he finished sixth in the Open.

He started slowly the following week in the 3M Open, where he finished tied for 51st, but this is his first start in almost a month, so he'll be well-rested and he looks highly likely to contend.

In addition to his two very good recent links performances, Jarvis finished third in the Mauritius Open just before Christmas last year at the links-style Heritage La Réserve Golf Club so although this is first start here, he should enjoy the test.

Find Me a 100 Winner Picks: Veteran Sterne can go well

Steve Rawlings: Dogged by injury and on a run of five straight missed cuts, Richard Sterne posted a bogey-free five-under-par 65 in round one of the Nexo Championship last year to lead by a stroke.

A four-over-par 76 on Saturday took him out off contention but he finished the week in a tie for 10th, so we know the venue suits his eye, and he had this to say about the course after his opening knock.

"It was quite a wake-up call when I get here on Monday and Tuesday with that wind blowing at the speed it did.

"Yesterday showed how beautiful the course is, and I think it has got a lot of good things about it. It is a tough golf course. If the wind can stay like it is then it is quite playable, but I think if it gets a bit winder then it becomes really tricky.

"There are beautiful views and a good layout."

Sterne's 10th here was followed by some improved form figures reading 29-29-MC-46-15-17 before he demonstrated his liking for links golf once again with a third-place finish behind Robert MacIntyre in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in October.

The 44-year-old Pretorian must have been beginning to think he'd end his career with a respectable total of six DP World Tour titles given his last victory came in the Joburg Open back in 2013 but now in a much better place physically, he put his accurate tee-to-green game to good use to win the Soudal Open in May by two strokes.

An 11th at the KLM Open is his best performance in four starts since his win in Belgium but he ranked second for Driving Accuracy and 10th for Putting Average in Denmark last week and another good week on the links could be on the cards. And maybe even an eighth DP World Tour title.

Place order to lay 8 Us @ 10.09/1 and 12 Us @ 2.01/1

Nexo Championship: Form stats

Current Form Pick: The Dane has registered top 10 finishes at his last couple of events - tying ninth at last week's Danish Golf Championship and sixth at the Corales Puntacana - and was third here in 2025.
