This has a potential to be a thriller at Trent Bridge, pitching possibly the two most ferocious batting units in the competiton. Rockets have won three on the spin to go four points clear at the head of affairs. Leeds are in third following a monster chase against Manchester.
Betfair Sportsbook cannot split the pair at 10/111.91. On the Exchange it looks as though Rockets are going to go off favourites at around the 1.804/5 mark. We agree with that.
Rockets look to be a more complete team. It is easy to get sidetracked by their fast scoring rates, thinking they're one-dimensional. But it is surely not the case. Getting after 138 with 13 balls left against Manchester was possible because of excellent work in the field.
Despite taking only three wickets the Rockets retained control. More so against Welsh Fire who could muster only 122. Fire romped home by nine wickets with 28 balls left.
Sunrisers will be buoyant after beating Manchester but there's no evidence that they could match Rockets' on-field nous. Making hard and fast plans to squeeze teams is tough when you play the majority of your cricket on the road that is Leeds.
Trent Bridge could well be one for the batters. In the one game so far, Spirit posted 159 only to lose out at the death. Previously a surface which took heavy spin, the Rockets' squad building suggested they would move to flatter surfaces. The hammering that the likes of Adam Zampa and Liam Livingstone took with the ball in that game suggests it's a flat one.
The total first-innings runs market expects batters to dominate. The quote of 161.5, though, is surprisingly high. It is hard to argue that it's a wrong one for overs players.

A few days ago these two would have reckoned they were bang in the mix for finsihing in the top three and possibly laying claim to being the best side in the tournament. That's the sort of confidence one would expect from an MI franchise while the MSG looked ominously good with back-to-back wins.
A lot has changed. MI London scrambled to an underwhelming win in Southampton against Brave with the toss bias onside. Then lost at home to a bristling and efficient London Spirit.
Manchester have lost back-to-back games with a potent bowling attack suddenly impotent. They failed to defend 181 against Sunrisers despite getting a firm grip in the powerplay. Their batters and bowlers then combined to be largely ineffective against Rockets when, franky, they were outlassed.
Something has got to give at The Oval. Not that Sportsbook agrees. MI London are hot favourites at 4/61.67 as the market returns to this weird obsession with the glamorous franchise.
It's particularly odd considering there's a whopping toss bias in favour of the chaser at the venue, one which helped Spirit down MIL last time out. On form it looks to be a choice affair but we know the odds won't move post-toss if MIl bat first. Spirit were as big as 2.407/5 after winning it.
Manchester, then, would rate the bet with the chase in their favour. On the Exchange we should expect to be able to snaffle at least 2.206/5, maybe more.
