India v Pakistan Asia Cup team news
India should welcome back Jasprit Bumrah after he returned home for the birth of his child. Mohammed Shami is likely to miss out from the bowling group which didn't inspire against Nepal.
Probable XI: Rohit, Gill, Kohli, Shreyas, Ishan, Hardik, Jadeja, Thakur, Kuldeep, Bumrah, Siraj
Pakistan are settled and strong. They duffed up Bangladesh last time out with Imam-ul-Haq showing fine touch with the bat. The pace trio of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah are a major threat.
Probable XI: Fakhar, Imam, Babar, Rizwan, Salman, Iftikhar, Shadab, Faheem, Afridi, Rauf, Naseem
India v Pakistan Asia Cup pitch report
Before the Sri Lanka versus Afghanistan match on Saturday, there was a 62% toss bias in favour of the team batting first at the Premadasa. Six of the last 14 had busted 270 or more in first-innings. Heavy rain is forecast and we need 25 overs for bets to stand on the innings runs market, which will of course take into account likely reduction in overs.
India v Pakistan Asia Cup match odds
India are 1.705/7 favourites with Pakistan 2.407/5. In the group stage India were rolled for 266 and Pakistan may well have won had it not been for rain.
For that game we argued the gulf in odds did not represent the ability of Pakistan. They look as strong as India considering their bowling prowess and rate pure value.
There is a reserve day for the contest - although the forecast for that is terrible, too. A thrash and bash is likely which would further reduce the 'gap'.
India v Pakistan Asia Cup player bets
Babar Azam has been boosted to 12/53.40 for top Pakistan bat. That says Sportsbook reckon he has a 29% chance of winning. In the last two years he has won at a rate of 34%. Value, so add Babar to the bet slip here. Virat Kohli has also been boosted to 11/43.75, a 26.7% chance.
Kohli is winning at a shade above 20% over the same study period so is not a good bet. But if you're a Kohli fan boy and can't help yourself bet him here. These numbers may be useful in an argument about who is better - Babar or Kohli?
