Hobart Hurricanes v Melbourne Renegades Big Bash tips

Hobart Hurricanes have been handed a major boost by Cricket Australia, who have made Beau Webster available for this match. Webster is in line to replace Cameron Green for the Sydney Ashes Test so this is viewed as an opportunity for a hit and a bowl.

With Tim David struggling with a hamstring injury, the timing could not better. Although it is noted that David's tournament could be over after he hobbled off in the victory over Perth Scorchers.

Otherwise Hobart are in good order in the defence of their title, winning three from four. They face a Renegades team which has only played twice and winning once.

Renegades have not included Fergus O'Neill in the squad, which suggests an injury. Caleb Jewell, the former Hobart batter, comes in. Much of the pace potency, therefore, comes from Jason Behrendorff who on win rates should be the clear favourite for top Renegades bowler. He looks to be the standout bet at 16/54.20.

Sydney Thunder v Perth Scorchers Big Bash tips

Josh Inglis has been released from Australia's Ashes squad and returns to boost a Scorchers team beginning to lose its way. They have lost their last two with the 258 they failed to defend against Heat probably sounding a death knell to their aspirations.

One always has to wonder about the credentials of a team when they display so little control or guile with such a mammoth total to defend. They need far more from senior players, not least Mitch Marsh who has had a dreadful opening three matches.

Marsh needs to step up now. The good news for Scorchers fans is that he has an excellent record against Thunder. He averages 64 against them so feelgood vibes should be present. On a small study sample on the match ups against Daniel Sams, Reece Topley, Shadab Khan and Chris Green (Thunder's big four bowlers), Marsh averages 42.

Thunder were wayward with the ball against Melbourne Stars on Sunday and Marsh's aggressive approach could mean that confidence dips quickly. We await Sportsboopk-related March prices such as top bat and individual runs.
