Betfair's Football SP - the price calculated at the time of kick-off - is determined by bets placed by both backers and layers in any market and that's why we think it will give you much better odds.
It is calculated exactly to ensure the fairest and most transparent odds possible for both backers and layers.
The Betfair SP is calculated at the start of any match by looking at the relationship between the amounts of money requested at SP by opposing customers and by looking at unmatched Exchange bets.
The BSP 'Projected Odds' are an indication of what the SP will be based on the current amount that has been backed and layed at the SP by Exchange users.
You can check the projected odds by clicking "Projected Odds" under Betfair Starting Price in your Display Options.
SP is being offered on Premier League markets - including this weekend's big Everton v Arsenal clash - and Champions League markets - such as Bayern Munich v Man Utd - but we plan to offer the option on a wider number of markets in the future - watch this space!
