Three second bet delay progress for November
No Delays on Passive Bets has moved into Football
The first match with no delays on passive bets was tested last month as we look to make football the sixth sport to have no delays applied on bets that aren't going to be instantly matched.
With football being the largest sport on the Exchange, it will be a gradual roll-out across smaller competitions initially to ensure technology and load capabilities are in place.
We will be adding No Delays on Passive Bets to the below competitions:
W/C 1st Dec - Bulgarian A League & German Cup (DFB Pokal)
W/C 8th Dec - 4 Scottish Professional Football Leagues - Premiership, Championship, League 1, League 2
Any competition added for football in 2025 will be part of testing indefinitely, only events with Odd IDs will be subject to the passive bet delay tool. Further competitions will be added with the passive bet delay tool applied, keep an eye out for communications over the coming months.
All markets subject to the passive bet delay tool will be flagged by API Signposting. For regular updates on competitions and matches where the tool will be applied subscribe to the Betfair Developer Forum channel.
Darts was also one of the most recent sports added with no delays on passive bets along with NBA. Look out for passive bets skipping the three second delay in December's PDC World Darts Chanpionship.

Three-Second Bet Delay Trial: November Results & Next Steps
In November's edition of the Newsletter we announced that we would undertake a trial to reduce bet delays in the English Championship where they would drop from five to three seconds.
Throughout November more than 30 matches have been subject to this bet delay reduction with 100% success rate and there have been no late suspension issues so far on the Championship games we have tested. More testing is required to determine if the three second bet delay should be scaled up further.
The next phase of testing will subject all Odd Event IDs to the three second bet delay for Championship and League 1 fixtures, plus any televised matches that are even event IDs.
Please get in contact if you have any feedback so far on bet delay reduction in football.
Big Bash League and IPL confirmed for batter line markets
Batter runs lines were available during the first Test of the Ashes series, offering bettors an alternative angle to the popular overs runs lines. The player markets offer dynamic Over/Under run lines for top batters pre-play and in-play.
These batter markets will be offered for the remaining four Ashes Tests and other major international fixtures. We also plan to offer player markets for men's Big Bash League cricket, starting in mid-December, and the IPL 2026.
We are keen to refine these markets over the coming months so please get in contact with any feedback you may have.
