Pud's Poker Progress

Hi and welcome to my little piece of the internet! My name is Matthew Pitt and I go by the alias Yorkshire Pud when playing poker online and also when I'm blogging. I'm new around here, though not to blogging in general, I thought it would be best to tell you a little bit about myself and about what and how I write so maybe you can get a feel for who I am and what makes me tick. I'm a 26 year old from Leeds who by day works in a busy office and by night dreams of becoming the next big poker star! I, like many others, read many poker blogs and read them in awe of the high stakes antics that are going on, feeling the excitement and tension as $20k pots are won and lost and tournaments being won worth $200k! But to the everyday recreational player, like me, it is unlikely that I am going to get to these stakes any time soon but also like many players I have a dream that one day it could be me! People sometimes dismiss small stakes and micro stakes players and their blogs as boring because of the monetary value involved but if people actually took the time to really read their work properly and get involved in their discussions they'd find a world where people are still passionate about the game and just because the pots being won are "only" $25 doesn't mean they're not exciting and hitting a final table of a $5 buy in event has just as many bragging rights as winning a $215 buy in game for someone who ply's their trade at the lower end of the spectrum. A lot of poker blogs focus on purely poker but I am different in that I openly talk about my life and situations I find myself in on a daily basis. I also publish my entries as I write them so that my thoughts and descriptions of things I do and see are fresh and natural which hopefully makes my blog more personal, almost as if I am actually talking to you the reader rather than just ranting and bragging aimlessly about my exploits. I also like to give my take on poker theories, books, software, bankroll management, all through the eyes of the common player. In short I tell it how it is whether that is poker or life and I hope you enjoy my journey and that we can learn and grow together. Welcome to my world of a small stakes player, a small stakes player with a dream. Thanks for reading and best of luck at the tables!
