Right2bet is a major advocate of poker players' rights, as they are often the worst affected by restrictive, protectionist online gambling laws designed to favour state monopoly providers.
Right2bet is a pan-European campaign that Betfair is proud to support. It campaigns for the right of all EU citizens to gamble with the licensed online provider of their choice. The campaign opposes state monopoly operators, and is made up of consumers, consumer groups, gambling companies and media publications.
But it's not just about sports betting, Right2bet is a major advocate of poker players' rights, as they are often the worst affected by restrictive, protectionist online gambling laws designed to favour state monopoly providers. When players are limited to playing against others in their own country, imagine what that does to liquidity, to tournament prize pools, and to the variety of games, stakes and formats on offer?
Unfortunately, this is already the situation in several European countries, most notably France, and many others are now threatening to regulate online gambling in a similar way. Right2bet is doing something about it, by voicing our opposition to state monopolies on behalf of everyone connected with online gambling. However, the campaign will only be a success if we can generate widespread grassroots support, which is where you come in.
Betfair will be hosting a series of freerolls to promote Right2bet, details of which will be available on via this link, along with passwords - http://www.right2bet.net/freeroll/. The first one will take place at 8pm this Friday (29th of October). We hope that you will support the campaign by taking part in the tournament, and by signing our petition to the European Commission, which can also be found on the site. We regularly update our site and blog with the latest developments in EU gambling law, so keep checking it for the latest announcements, and info on upcoming freerolls.
