Tom "durrrr" Dwan has revealed he plans to win the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event in a recent interview at the PartyPoker World Open in London.
He was being interviewed by Tatjana Pasalic after Dwan had busted out of the $7,000 World Open who's main line of questioning revolved around the current "Durrrr Challenge" with Daniel "jungleman12" Cates. Dwan revealed that neither player had taken a break from the challenge but instead Dwan had been travelling to Europe so was unable to play. The two online Goliath's have not faced off in the past two weeks.
When asked when railbirds would get to watch "durrrr" and "jungleman12" continue their allotted 50,000 hands of $200/$400 No-limit Hold'em Heads-up matches, Dwan said he was unavailable for the next three days or so and that he knew Cates was coming to London for the World Series of Poker Europe, where both players were going to be playing a lot of live poker and not wanting to necessarily play online. Dwan asked Pasalic when the WSOPE finished and when she replied "29th September" Dwan replied he was "planning on winning that one," that he was saving "winning his bracelet bet until the very last event," and that he would be free to play after the Main Event had finished.
Dwan made a number of large proposition bets with his fellow high-stakes pros that he would win a WSOP or WSOPE bracelet in 2010. He came ever so close in a $1,500 No-limit Hold'em event when he came second from 2,563 entrants for $381,885, a second place that cost him a reported several million dollar pay day! The true amount he stands to win has not been fully revealed but a number of pros, including Daniel Negreanu and Mike "The Mouth" Matusow were on the rail and looking rather worried when Dwan got heads-up against new Zealander Simon Watt.
The man known as "durrrr" also told viewers that he only plays poker for the money and not for the adulations of his adoring fan base. He said that he he is not bothered about the plaudits he receives instead he plays poker with the sole aim to win as much money as he possibly can and the only time he thinks about the competition is when he plays home games with his friends for little or no money. I can only imagine how good he is in those!
