"I have no idea what the name is all about, but Bab At The Bowster (2.30) looks to have an outstanding chance of getting off the mark on only her second career start. William Haggas’ filly ran in a decent quality Ascot maiden first time out finishing third, with the second having won a maiden since the form looks strong."
They may be short prices but Carl Harris recommends this trio for today's bets. If you don't fancy taking just one selection why not roll them into a Betfair Multiple?
It looks as if the BHA's quality control manager has returned from a break that saw some really poor cards over the last few days. Thursday is much better and I have more on my shortlist today than I have had all week. I am looking at a couple of maidens to scoop the profits and I think that we have a good thing at Bath in the seller.

William Haggas' filly ran in a decent quality Ascot maiden first time out finishing third, with the second having won a maiden since the form looks strong. That Ascot contest was a £10,000 affair and featured a stronger looking field than today's class four affair at Brighton where only six runners line up. Tom Dascombe is a man to take seriously, with two year-olds especially but with normal progression I think Bab At The Bowster has excellent claims and is taken to win.
Another maiden, at Sandown this time, where High Twelve (6.45) should also win and looks to have a bright future ahead of him. The well bred son on Montjeu made a pleasing racecourse debut for John Gosden, finishing second to the Richard Hannon's well regarded Cadley Road over seven furlongs. Stepping up in trip, back at Sandown, should suit High Twelve and I would suggest that John Gosden will be quietly confident on landing this race, I just hope we get a price.
Mister Hughie (6.55) will probably never get a better chance of winning a race. This is a poor looking seller for which Mick Channon must think he has to win. Rated 70 he has so much in hand that anything other than an easy win would be embarrassing. The price may reflect his chances, but this must be a good thing, if form and marks count for anything! I will have a fairly decent bet on Mister Hughie despite it being a seller, he must surely be a good thing!
Thursday's Bets...
2.30 Brighton - Bab At The Bowster (win) @ [1.7]
6.45 Sandown - High Twelve (win) @ [1.36]
6.55 Bath - Mister Hughie (win) @ evens
