"I expect Wi Dud to make it career win number three while Ingleby Star will win his fourth race for his new stable in only his ninth start for them."
Carl Harris expects a York based trainer to be smiling this evening as his horse bids for a cool four out of nine...
Tuesday will hopefully see better weather. It has rained like the Indian monsoon season here in York, which is not good news for the going on the Knavesmire, which we need to be good if Sea The Stars is to run in the Juddmonte International next week. I really want to see this horse in the flesh, and would prefer to do so on my doorstep. I do hope that we get a week of warm weather to dry out the ground. Next Tuesday is when it all starts and one thing is assured, next Tuesday's card will certainly be better than today's. That said there is an excellent race at Nottingham, which has attracted a much better field than the prize money deserves. The ground at Nottingham will be soft which will have a big impact on proceedings.
Wi Dud (7.55) is a very good horse but, surprisingly has only won twice, both at York. This is really a symptom of having run on all the top sprints, where margins are small between the competitors. It looks a shrewd move by Kevin Ryan to drop down in grade and compete in a much smaller field and with soft going should prove a winning decision. Neil Callan takes the ride which is a huge positive and I fully expect Wi Dud to make it career win number three tonight.
Noel Wilson is having a good season and Ingleby Star (7.40) has been flying the flag for the York based trainer. The four-year-old won a handicap last time and is dropped in to a seller where he meets Obe Gold, who is rated the best horse in the race. We highlighted that Debbie Mountain was looking to buy a winner, claiming this one from Dandy Nicholls, but was unable to manage it in a claimer last time. She now drops down to the basement level, but with the stable's poor form and strike rate I would suggest that this is one worth taking on and that Ingleby Star will win his fourth race for the stable in this only his ninth start for them.
Lets hope we have a payout today, good luck.
Tuesdays Bets:
7.55 Nottingham- Wi Dud, win (Best of the Day)
7.40 Musselburgh- Ingleby Star, win
