Tyson Fury became the favourite to win this year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year after successfully defending his WBC heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte on Saturday.
The world heavyweight champion moved from 10/1 to 8/1 on Betfair following his sixth round stoppage of Whyte.
He said afterwards that he would retire from boxing but also left the door open to another fight if there was the potential to unite all the world heavyweight titles.
Fury has been in contention for SPOTY in the past, most notably in 2020, when he took the title from Deontay Wilder in the second fight of their trilogy.
However, Fury said he didn't want the BBC award and asked to be removed from consideration.
This year, Harry Kane is the boxer's nearest rival in the betting. The England captain is 12/1 in a year when he will lead England to the World Cup in Qatar in November and December as one of the tournament favourites.
If Kane, who lead England to the final of Euro 2020 last summer, captains England to World Cup glory then he will stand a very strong chance of winning SPOTY. Mind you, the fina doesn't take place until 18 December - the Sunday when you might have expected SPOTY to be awarded usually.
Tennis player Emma Raducanu, who won SPOTY last year, is 12/1 even as she struggles to reproduce the form that saw her storm to a stunning US Open title last September.
If Raducanu performs well at Wimbledon this summer - she's 10/1 to win it - or successfully defends her US title, she will be in contention again.
Lewis Hamilton has drifted to 16/1 as his difficulties in the new F1 season continue. There is, however, a long way to go and the British driver often improves as the season goes on.
