Her decision to use her half of the winnings has certainly paid off because Hille has progressed to Day 5 where she is currently sixth in chips with 282 players remaining!
When poker players win major tournaments they will often tell a take of how everything just seemed to fall into place for them, like the stars had all aligned perfectly to appease the poker gods. Here at Betfair Poker we feel those stars have aligned perfectly for one of our good friends, Elisabeth Hille.
You may not be familiar with Hille but she is no stranger to us. She came to Vegas from her native Norway with her boyfriend Harald Olsen; who you may recall finished 22nd in Event #59 after qualifying for a Vegas experience package on Betfair Poker. A poker player herself, Hille divided her time between supporting her beau and playing in a number of WSOP Main Event satellites. They did not work out as planned so she took to the cash tables in an attempt to win the $10,000 entry fee to "The Big Dance," but when Olsen cashed for over $20,000 he - as the couple always do when they play the same events - split his prize 50/50 and our heroine had bagged her seat to the Main Event.
Her decision to use her half of the winnings has certainly paid off because Hille has progressed to Day 5 where she is currently sixth in chips with 282 players remaining! She has now locked up no less that $38,453 for her efforts but she has a very realistic chance of walking away with a staggering $8,527,982! As you can see from the attached image, Hille has been sporting a Betfair Poker hoodie and we are positive that it is this hoodie - and possibly her poker skills too - that are helping her accumulate chips like they are going out of fashion.
Hille will be back in action at 12:00 Las Vegas time (20:00 UK) where she will play five 120-minute levels. She will be joined by the likes of chip leader Paul Volpe, fellow European Erik Hellman plus other notable players such as Vanessa Selbst, Erik Cajelais, Tristan Clemencon, Andrew Lichtenberger, Isaac Baron, Gavin Smith and JP Kelly; amongst others!
Tune in tomorrow to find out how Hille gets on. We have out fingers crossed that she progresses to Day 6 with ease and continues to fly the Betfair Poker flag!
