By the time registration was closed the official attendance of Event #2 of the 2012 WSOP stood at an impressive 2,101; of which only 240 managed to make it through the minefield that is Day 1 of these so-called "donkaments." By the time 11-hours of poker had been played, Londoner Turker had turned his 4,500 starting stack into a tournament leading 158,100.

Turker's name may be familiar with you and so it should because he has a number of solid results to his name in the live poker arena; the best and most memorable of which came at the 2011 WSOP where he finished as runner-up to Sean Getzwiller in a $1,000 No Limit Hold'em event for a cool $377,411. If Turker wants to best that amount at this year's series then he is going to have to go all the way in this event and take it down; a result that would net him $517,725.

Joining Turker at the top of the leaderboard is a name that needs no introduction, Eli Elezra. The Israeli poker pro and businessman finished within touching distance of Turker with 155,900 chips and is definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with when Day 2 kicks off at 13:00 Las Vegas time (21:00 UK time). Also well-stacked are the likes of Ryan Snickles (142,400), Brandon Cantu (130,100) and Mike Lee (109,200).
