Week six of the Team Betfair WSOP trials saw a jaw dropping 772 players fight for those esteemed packages to Las Vegas. Two players would be winning the $4k package, $1500 in travelling expenses and of course the legendary and priceless Betfair hospitality.
For the third week running my tournament ended in the first hour. I was getting good starting hands and raising only to miss every flop. My continuation bets were met with contempt and re-raises and I soon found my 2012 starting stack reduced to 1100 chips. I then got dealt JJ in mid position, someone had already raised so I shoved all my chips in. He showed AA and with no Jack on the board I was consigned to another early exit.
20 minutes later the first break arrived and nearly half the field had fallen with 392 players still remaining. kkrks was leading with a 28k stack followed by Doctore85 who was holding 23k.

During the next hour players were dropping like flies and by the time the second break was upon us the field had been trimmed down to 112 players. _Cathay_ was now our chip leader with 43k with tsiattes27 (who won a package in Trial one) and d3nn1s24 both on 38k.
The play was becoming more careful now with the players left beginning to sense a chance of going to Vegas. The third break saw only 40 players left fighting for the two prizes. Dembums_x was leading the way now with 111k followed by costasx7 on 102k and 2nd break leader _Cathay_ on 80k.
Over the next hour the players were whittled down to just 13 and the fourth break saw costasx7 leading with an impressive 414k. Costas was miles clear of Alex_Zacha on 204k and Doctore85 on 151k.
10 minutes later we had our final table which was as follows:-

On the final table blinds started at 4k/8k with an 800 running ante. JJ.T.STITCHj doubled up twice in the first few hands to give himself a chance of making a run. costasx7 was in no mood for messing about, he knocked out FartBox XL5 with J9 v AK with all the chips going in on a Jack high flop. He then eliminated Aleks-NN AQ v KK with the flop bringing much welcomed Ace. This moved costas onto 672k.

Doctore then saw off Brumster74 when his AQ held against AJ. costas continued his march to Vegas dismissing FcukFcuk2 with AK v AT and moving himself onto 815k. Alex_Zacha then brought JJ.T.STITCHj's renaissance to an end when his KJ out flopped JJ's 22 with two Jacks on the board.

Dembums_x had been very quiet picking up a few small pots but he struck the final blow. Walsall_FC shoved all his chips in on a Ten high flop and was instantly called by Dembums who had Walsall strangled AA v AQ and with no miracles happening poor Walsall finished third.
So congratulations to our two worthy winners costasx7 and Dembums_x who both win those precious Vegas packages and join Team Betfair for WSOP event 59. I look forward to meeting both of the players in Vegas!
