GSOP 9 Event #13: -Rex Cramer- Min-Bets His Way To Victory

Fixed Limit Hold'em is the scientific equivalent to the art of No Limit Hold'em and that, ladies and gentlemen, means -Rex Cramer- is a top class scientist. You see, -Rex Cramer- took down the $320 buy-in Fixed Limit Hold'em event of Grand Series of Poker 9, a result that netted him a cool $11,075.42.
GSOP 9 Event #13: $300+$20 Fixed Limit Hold'em ($50,000 Guaranteed)
As we mentioned in the opening paragraph, -Rex Cramer- took down the $320 buy-in Event #13 and although Betfair Poker would like to congratulate him on his performance, we are disappointed because his victory was at the expense of one of our own. We had a total of five players in the money, three of whom managed to make it onto the ten-handed final table. The three final table members were the aforementioned st1lett0, pokerdings (8th) and grifsdik (7th). These guys, and possibly gals, helped to scoop over $12,000 from the prize pool, pushing the total won by Betfair players in the main GSOP events close to $250,000.

GSOP 9 Mini-Event #13: $30+$3 Fix Limit Hold'em ($5,000 Guaranteed)
When I first started playing online poker it was Fixed Limit Hold'em that was my game of choice. I remember vividly how quick the game seemed to be and how excited I was to see pots build. How times have changed.
I am not saying Fixed Limit Hold'em does not have a place in the poker world but I think it takes a special type of person to play it and I am not special. At least not in that way. After crashing out in 138/179 in the $320 buy-in event, I didn't hold too much hope for a deep run in the $33 either, and I was correct to think in such a way as my tournament came to an abrupt end in 152nd place (216 started).
Whilst my finishing position looks poor, you have to take into consideration nobody busts from a Fixed Limit tournament for about three days and then they all start to fall by the wayside after that - it's just the way it is. Despite me being a prize donk, it appears Team Betfair players enjoy the min-bet format because six of them cashed and we had another two of our players on the final table.
Caturama, PocLaBlb, Funeraler and Jagshemash all saw a return on their $33 but those returns were much larger for Neptunism (7th) and Im the 1st (6th) who took home $220.04 and $275.06 respectively.
