World Darts Quarter Final Betting Tips: Hood and Anderson to pick up where they left off

• Debutant Justin Hood now 16/117.00 to win the World Championship 

• Anderson and Hood to pile in the 180s

• Van Veen against Humphries is tough to call

With just seven more matches remaining until we crown our new World Champion, we have been left with a captivating quarter-final lineup with plenty of intrigue surrounding each fixture.

Debutant Justin Hood has taken this tournament by storm and as a result is now as short as 16/117.00 to go on and lift the title with back-to-back champion Gary Anderson now 17/29.50 after coming through a barnstormer of a battle against Michael van Gerwen.

Hood and Anderson to maintain scoring power

Justin Hood has been a magnificent revelation this tournament. Whilst many of us knew he was a very good player beforehand and were aware of his wonderful character, for it to all come together in the way that it has at the Alexandra Palace has been tremendous to watch.

Having already eliminated one of the form players of 2025 in Danny Noppert, he looked completely unfazed by what would be deemed a daunting task by many, when he faced and breezed past one of the tournament favourites in Josh Rock.

Remarkably pinning 11 of his 11 darts at double prior to having a match dart, he ended the contest with 75% checkout success, ridiculous over that distance.

I don't even think we need to debate or factor in whether the magnitude of the occasion or nerves will get to him, he seems to be taking everything in his stride and getting better as we move through the rounds.

Another stern challenge awaits but Happy Feet has won his only other meeting with The Flying Scotsman, it came in a Players Championship event earlier this year where Anderson lost despite averaging 105.

The Scot is fully aware of his opponent's talent and what he's capable of and even though he thought his terrific performance against MvG was rubbish, there are plenty of positives for him to take, even though he will undoubtedly continue to play down his chances.

The last player to go back-to-back at the World Championship is through to this stage for the first time in four years, he's been posting extraordinary numbers on the floor all year but bringing that form to the biggest stage of all, he must feel deep down that he has a great chance of adding a third World title.

Between them they have fired in a whopping 71 maximums in this tournament and with the increased format, at 11/43.75 I fancy both players to hit 11+ 180s in a match that I think has the potential to go long. 

Humphries looking for first win of the year over Dutch youngster

All four quarter-finals have the potential to be tight and tense tussles with plenty of maximums and twists and turns but this one is particularly exciting.

Gian van Veen is the reigning World Youth and European champion, he has continued to make steady improvements over the past few years and is widely regarded as one of the most explosive and talented youngsters in the game.

With a win over Luke Humphries here, he will not only advance to the semi-finals of the World Championship but also, provisionally, move up to fifth in the world.

I believe his spot in next year's Premier League is already a certainty but a fifth successive win over Cool Hand would absolutely cement it.

Having beaten the 2024 World Champion to pick up his maiden major title back in October, he also dumped him out of the Players Championship Finals last month and the World Matchplay.

Van Veen has been a bit of a thorn in his side this year but with both looking so in control of every element of their game for the majority of this tournament, it is incredibly tough to predict who advances. Such is Humphries' brilliance, he posted an average of 103 last time out and still looked like he had plenty of gears to go through.

The Dutch 23-year-old took out two hugely significant finishes in his match against Charlie Manby last time out with a 132 and 88 finished on the bull. Given how frequently he's left with a dart at bull at the end of legs and how regularly he pins it, I'm backing him to have 2+ bull finishes in this match at 11/43.75.
