James Wade has won almost everything there is to in the game

Wade to win and put in a good performance

Schindler to have very few worries
Four more matches await us on the seventh day of action at the Alexandra Palace as the German number one and one of the most successful players in PDC history enter the event.
The Machine to Wade his way into round two
James Wade has had a wildly successful career, picking up PDC titles across three different decades but has never managed to get his hands on the big one.
In June, he ended an almost three year wait for a PDC ranking title by picking up a Players Championship win in Leicester. In addition to that and a number of other deep runs on the floor and in European events, The Machine finished runner-up at both the UK Open and the World Matchplay as well as a couple of quarter-final finishes on TV.
His overall numbers don't really count for a great deal because his timing is typically wonderful regardless of the standard of a match but every metric you look at, he is outperforming his opening round opponent. He can produce moments of brilliance, even when up against it.
The expectation would be that three time winner on the Asian Tour this year, Ryusei Azemoto, will struggle to compete in every department, having averaged 79 on debut 12 months ago. The average line is quite low for Wadey in this one though and I'm backing him to post an average over 92.5 at 5/61.84.
Back James Wade to average +92.5
Despite not winning a game on that stage since reaching the semi-final of the 2022 World Championship, I think it'll be a routine win for the three time UK Open champion.
Schindler to shine
Martin Schindler has picked up a title on the floor and Euro Tour in 2025, producing some exceptional darts en route.
Translating that form onto the big TV stages has been a bit of a struggle at times though and that has resulted in a number of early exits, with runs to the Last 16 his best in terms of major tournaments.

12 months ago, he was dumped out in his opening match by Callan Ryde in a largely underwhelming contest but with Stephen Burton failing to perform on his two previous visits to Ally Pally and with the additional pressure of having his tour card privileges on the line, I'm backing The Wall to win 3-0 at 15/82.88.
Back Martin Schindler to win 3-0
