Jonny Clayton is showing no signs of slowing down in this campaign says Abigail Davies who recommends three bets for Thursday in Liverpool...

  • The Ferret now 4/15.00 to win the Premier League

  • Price to pick up where he left off

  • Humphries still has time

At the start of this campaign, Jonny Clayton was one of the favourites to finish bottom of the table, despite being one of the most consistent performers coming into the tournament.

The Ferret continues to take this year's Premier League by storm, showing many different qualities and attributes to record a fourth nightly win in Rotterdam.

The Welsh number one was mightily impressive against Michael van Gerwen before digging deep and battling hard to edge out Josh Rock. He then recorded a third win in four Premier League meetings with the world number one Luke Littler thanks to some exceptional finishing.

Clayton is now 4/15.00 to win this tournament for a second time, with his World Cup teammate Gerwyn Price available at 5/16.00 to go all the way.

Things are looking good for Gerwyn

The Iceman hasn't always had the best record in the Premier League having only made finals night on two occasions but he has to be regarded as one of, if not the most, consistent performer at the start of 2026.

At the weekend he produced some spellbinding displays yet again, to pick up his 10th Euro Tour title. Only Michael van Gerwen has more.

Price, more than any other player in the Premier League, is managing to take care of business outside of this event as well as being very handily placed to qualify for The O2.

Last season it felt like a matter of time before he picked up another big title and whilst that didn't come to fruition in 2025, I think he'll win at least one major tournament this campaign.

One of his issues in previous seasons has been getting himself into good positions in matches and tournaments but not making the most of them, not being clinical enough and squandering opportunities.

This season his finishing has been exceptional and he isn't showing any signs of taking his foot off the gas. One of the bets I like here is for the highest checkout to be +114.5 at 5/61.84.

After a stonking start to his debut campaign, there's no getting away from the fact that Gian van Veen is not currently in the best form. He seems to be struggling and that's not an ideal time to be facing someone who has come out on top in 11 of the 13 previous meetings.

With Van Veen's inconsistency, I think it'll be a third consecutive quarter-final defeat for the Dutchman and I'm backing Price to win and throw 3+ 180s at 11/82.38, to set up a semi-final showdown with Jonny Clayton.

Another battle of the Lukes

Luke Humphries admitted to me last week that he is running out of time to close the gap and ultimately leapfrog those above him in the table to reach finals night. But he's already proven he's capable of producing bursts that will elevate his standing and I wouldn't back against him doing enough to force his way into the finals night field.

He knows that a steady flow of picking up points is no longer enough, he needs nightly wins. With that in mind, the prospect of facing Luke Littler, the player who has won six of their last seven contests, won't be a thrilling one.

The Nuke thwarted Cool Hand's progress last time out and, whilst I'd actually be tempted to back the reigning Premier League champion to win at 6/42.50 because I don't feel he's playing badly, it's more a case of him just struggling to get over the line in matches.

The bet I like the look of is both players hitting 4+ 180s at 9/43.25 as I think it'll be high quality and a close encounter.
