Welsh number one Jonny Clayton is enjoying a dream return to his favourite tournament and is now 8/19.00 to win it for the second time. As for Luke Humphries, he reached his first final in Nottingham but is still waiting for his first nightly win, the reigning champion is 5/16.00 to become just the third player to successfully defend the title, after Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen.
All Dutch dual to kick off the night
Michael van Gerwen's form at the start of 2026 had many people again tentatively asking whether he was back following deep runs with consistent performances on the floor, a title on the World Series as well as claiming the first nightly win of this year's Premier League.
Since withdrawing from night three of this year's darting roadshow though, he has failed to win a game on a Thursday night. Away from this tournament, he's also struggled to string runs together, however, it is taking something pretty special to beat him.
He averaged 107 in defeat to Niels Zonneveld on the Euro Tour at the weekend but even though the performances are better, the timing, being able to land blows when they would hurt an opponent the most, perhaps one of the things most lacking from his game, along with the fear factor he once had.
He takes on a player he beat to pick up that win in Newcastle and to take the title in Bahrain back in January, Gian van Veen, who'll be looking to deliver a better display this week following two below par performances in this tournament that have seen him drop to fourth in the table.
MvG leads the head-to-head 7-4 and I think this one could run close so I'm staying away from the result but am backing Gian van Veen to Throw 3+ 180s & Have 1+ 100+ Checkouts at 23/103.30.
Back Gian van Veen to hit 3+ 180s and 1+ 100+ checkout
Back a bull finish
Luke Humphries admitted prior to his quarter-final clash in Nottingham that his doubling woes have played on his mind of late.
After the first leg of his match against Gian van Veen where he again struggled on the outer ring, Cool Hand changed his flights, opting to revert back to ones where he believes his finishing is significantly better and that certainly proved to be the case on night six as he took out some huge finishes en route to his first final of the season.
Denied in the end by a very strong Jonny Clayton performance and it's The Ferret up first for the world number two in Dublin.

Clayton still has a 100% record in quarter-finals, he has stretched his lead at the top of the table to eight points and is therefore already guaranteed to face Josh Rock in Berlin, when the fixtures are decided by league positions.
I expect the scoreline to be closer than it was in the Nottingham final but at 13/82.63 I wouldn't discourage backing the Welshman to win the match, although the bet that I'm getting behind is one or more bull finishes in the match at 11/82.38.
Back 1+ bull finishes between Clayton and Humphries
In terms of outright betting, Clayton is currently 5/23.50 to finish top of the Premier League table and even though it is expected that Luke Littler will have a burst at some point and a more sustained spell of brilliance, there is no denying that Clayton is currently the most consistent in the field.
Back Jonny Clayton to finish top of the table
Littler topped the table in his debut campaign, with a record points tally of 40 which he managed to beat last time out, reaching 45. However, given the constant trickling of points for The Ferret and the manner of his victories at the moment, I'm taking a punt on him remaining top of the table come week 16.
