Garcia is the rightful favourite but he is beatable
Garcia may be the champion, but his recent form does little to inspire confidence.
The 28-year-old Californian boasts a professional boxing record of 25 wins, 20 by knockout, against two draws. He has won only two of his previous five, losing to Gervonta Davis and Rolando Romero, while a win over Devin Haney was settled as a no contest.
'King Ry' did win last time out, and it was an important one. He beat Mario Barrios on points over 12 rounds at this venue, snatching the Texan's title in the process.
Garcia is the more natural welterweight, ducks between the ropes as the champion, and has campaigned at a higher level than the man standing in the opposite corner.
Traders working on the Betfair Sportsbook offer a 26th career win for Garcia at 1/31.33, and that'll be popular in Garcia v Benn Bet Builders. The points win is higher at 5/23.50, with a KO/TKO deemed more likely at evens.
Benn's weight issues could be a problem
Benn is the challenger, but many boxing pundits believe that the Brit's style and raw power give him an edge over his inconsistent rival.
Conor's CV shows 25 wins against one defeat, with 14 victories coming inside the distance. The only man to defeat Benn was long-term rival Chris Eubank Jr in April 2025. Benn levelled the score in a rematch just seven months later.
Critics suggest Benn has struggled to make the welterweight limit for this bout, after facing Eubank Jr twice at middleweight. How much has the weight cut taken out of Conor? We must wait and see, but our questions will be answered as soon as the bell rings for the opening round in Vegas.
Benn is the betting underdog, with backers able to get 13/5 on the Betfair Sportsbook. Traders have also boosted the odds on the visitor winning by KO/TKO, improving the offer from 5/1 to 11/2.

Garcia is the better and slicker boxer. He sparkled last time when dethroning Barrios, and anything close to a repeat performance would be enough to beat Benn.
British boxing fans know Conor is an all-action sort. He comes to win, uses his strength to push opponents back against the ropes, and carries power in both fists.
But the drop back down to welterweight is a massive gamble for Team Benn, and I'm confident it'll blow up in their faces.
Garcia will be too fast and too smart, scoring combinations before using his footwork to glide out of danger. I'm taking him to impress the scoring judges and win on points at 5/23.50, odds that are better than I expected to find.
