Bahrain Trophy form reads well
Duke De Sessa could be the one to beat in here but Al Qareem certainly has his chance. He was a bit below par at Goodwood last time but his earlier second in the Bahrain Trophy reads well. Looking at his profile, the less rain from now, the better for him.
Leger form gives her a fair shot
I am sure there will be plenty of talk around Verry Elleegant in here, and even her Prix Foy third last time probably gives her a favourite's chance here alongside Sea La Rosa, but that doesn't represent a scary level of form for the rest of us.
There probably isn't a lot between our two fillies in here, but Emily Dickinson's fifth in the Leger last time gives her the edge and that clearly gives her a fair shot. We could be facing testing ground - though the forecast looks to be changing a fair bit daily - and that would be an unknown for her, while Perotan is proven on soft.
Good debut win and has lots of potential
He is obviously still learning the game after one start and he is the least experienced horse in here, but he got the job done very well on his debut at Naas and this Camelot colt is full of potential, for all that maiden maybe wasn't the strongest. But he obviously won it decisively and form-wise he doesn't have to improve much to be bang in the reckoning here.
Very high form bar and the one to beat
Whether he wants it as deep as it could be here is questionable, and I respect the claims of a few of his rivals, most obviously Quickthorn, but he sets a very high form bar for the others to reach. He is tough and professional, and he has met every challenge that has been thrown at him in Group 1 company lately, and maybe with a lot more in the locker if required.
Of course, we will be disappointed if he is beaten but the conditions could possibly be a leveller. I think he can probably handle anything the weather throws at him, though.
Needs to raise his game but he can go well
I see he isn't among the market leaders but I can see him running well here. He looks pretty ground versatile, and tactically too, and he comes here off the back of a very good second at Windsor last time, a race in which the third, Royal Champion, came out and scored impressively at Ayr. He probably needs to raise his game a touch but I can see him going well.
Could improve again after Leopardstown run
To be honest, I was pretty surprised by how well he ran when second on soft ground in the Boomerang Mile last time, chasing home a fast progressing horse in Jadoomi. He clearly has another tough task on here but he has place chances if improving again, which it isn't unreasonable to expect given the Leopardstown run last time was his first outing since May.
