Mark's Bet of the Day: Lingfield, 14:30 - Back Circuit Breaker @ 11/82.38
When it comes to amateur riders' handicaps, a tried and trusted method down the years has been to start with whatever Simon Walker is riding and work backwards from there.
His mount in this staying contest is Jonjo and A J O'Neill's Circuit Breaker, who hasn't won for quite some time but has dropped to a very workable mark as a result.
In fact, you have to go all the way back to 2023 (when trained by Ralph Beckett) to find Circuit Breaker's last flat win, although he was successful over hurdles for his current connections on his debut over timber in 2024.
He may be on a long losing run, but this is the lowest grade of handicap that Circuit Breaker has ever contested and he won't lack for any assistance from the saddle.

Wolverhampton, 18:30 - Back Haaderr @ 7/24.50
Ed Bethell has got his team in flying form - hitting at a near 41% strike-rate in the last fortnight - and I'm hoping he can extend that run with the Haaderr in this 7f handicap.
The son of Mohaather isn't fully exposed just yet - this will just his sixth career start - and while it's a tad disappointing that he hasn't fully gone on since winning a Southwell maiden in October, it could be that a return to the all-weather sparks a revival.
The three-year-old didn't look at home on the Catterick undulations on his seasonal reappearance (and handicap debut) last month, though he was far from disgraced at Doncaster last time when fourth to Suspicious Mindz.
The selection does have a tricky draw to overcome in stall 10, but the booking of Danny Tudhope (who already knows the horse) is a plus with that in mind, and Haaderr comes into the race still open to improvement.

Wolverhampton, 20:00 - Back White Storm @ 9/110.00
White Storm is another who could well benefit from getting back on the all-weather and he looks open to plenty of progression making his handciap debut on just his fourth career start.
Simon & Ed Crisford's three-year-old rather bumped into one on his debut at Kmepton in the spring, being beaten 11 lengths by Water To Wine, who went off as one of the more fancied runners in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.
While Water To Wine was disappointing that day, the feeling remains that he'll make an impact in Group races before long, so it was no disgrace that White Storm wasn't able to lay a glove on him.
White Storm himself didn't go on after that debut, finishing well held at both Doncaster and Leicester, but the return to an artificial surface, coupled with a step up in trip could well get him back on track, while his pedigree is a classy one considering he starts off in handicaps from a mark in the mid-70s.
