Ascot, 13:55 - Back Adrestia E/W @ 10/111.00

Four-year-old filly Adrestia could bounce back to form following a disappointing effort worth forgiving at Redcar when last seen. She may have needed her opening run of the season at Windsor, and, from a mark of 96, could be dangerous in the hands of Colin Keane in this 5f handicap sprint.

The daughter of Havana Grey has enjoyed two successful campaigns so far during her career, winning twice during her debut season before landing the Palace Of Holyrood Stakes from a mark of 89 at Royal Ascot last year. Since her latest win, she has been only narrowly denied in a 20-runner Goodwood handicap from a 1lb higher mark of 97 and finished second to Shagraan in Listed company at Beverley following a fourth-placed effort to Rumstar in a Sandown Group Three.

A talented performer on her day, it could be worth keeping the faith in the Simon and Ed Crisford-trained contender, who represents an in-form yard and appears on a workable rating with excuses to be made for her previous appearances this term.

Chester, 14:10 - Back Maharajas Express E/W @ SP

Course-and-distance winner Maharajas Express won this race twelve months ago from a 1lb higher mark and could return to form back at Chester following a disappointing run at Wolverhampton when last seen.

He's better than shown in his latest start and has form figures of 3136 at the track for his current trainer Ian Williams, which bodes well for his chances with proven experience on the Roodee.

From a workable mark, the son of Rajasinghe makes appeal under Edward Greatrex as he bids for a seventh career win in his 47th start. He has plenty of valuable experience in his favour and should be capable of a bold showing with a favourable trip.

Ascot, 14:27 - Back Holloway Boy E/W @ 18/119.00

In this Group Two mile contest, Holloway Boy appears overpriced and could represent some each-way value under the in-form Callum Rodriguez. He has course form at Ascot and has often been seen running consistently well under hefty weights in big-field competitive handicaps.

Over the past couple of years the Karl Burke-trained contender has shown his capabilities at Stakes level with a Group Three and Listed success accompanied by placed efforts in Group One and Group Two company. He can often defy the odds and will be suited by the trip in quicker conditions, capable of putting in a big effort.

Chester, 14:45 - Back He's A Gentleman E/W @ SP

From a mark of 76 under 3lb claimer Jack Callan, He's A Gentleman makes appeal only 4lb higher than his last winning mark. The experienced gelding has finished second in both of his latest runs at Wolverhampton, as well as winning a charity race at Newbury, which should set him up nicely for this outing.

Making appeal at the weights for Hugo Palmer, the likeable contender could pose a threat and warrants each-way consideration.

Bet of the day: Newmarket, 14:52 - Back Wechaad @ 4/15.00

Roger Varian-trained Wechaad holds solid claims from a mark of 95 following a respectable seventh-placed effort in the 30-runner Britannia Stakes when last seen. He remains unexposed in only his eighth career start and, from an unchanged mark, should be capable of putting in a bold bid under Ryan Moore.

The three-year-old colt finished third to Words Of Truth in an Ascot maiden last summer before chasing home Venetian Prince at Newbury. He got off the mark when beating Gold Dawn convincingly at Doncaster, and finished third in a Group Three in his final start as a juvenile.

Although he has performed creditable twice in big field handicaps this year, there could be further improvement to come from the son of Oasis Dream and he could be worth keeping onside for an in-form yard.

York, 15:12 - Back Revival Power E/W @ 18/119.00

Attempting to follow in the footsteps of her sister Winter Power, who won this race in 2021 as a three-year-old, Revival Power could be worth keeping the faith in at a huge price under James Sullivan.

The course-and-distance winner has proven form on the Knavesmire having won a Listed contest here last summer before landing a Group Two success at Doncaster. She showed plenty of speed as a juvenile, also finishing second to Spicy Marg at Goodwood, and, although she's yet to build on her promising debut campaign in two starts this year, could be capable of better still.

A likeable performer on her day, the Tim Easterby-trained filly may have needed her first outing of the term and can be forgiven for disappointing in a hugely competitive 27-runner Palace Of Holyrood Stakes contest at Royal Ascot when last seen. She hasn't shown her best so far this term but can outrun her odds if returning to form here.

York, 15:12 - Back Military Code E/W @ 12/113.00

Military Code finished second to Revival Power on the Knavesmire during the Ebor Festival and is another who warrants each-way consideration on his return to York.

The yard has already been among the winners at the July Festival this week and this son of Wootton Bassett could show significant improvement from his Listed reappearance at Sandown for Charlie Appleby. He won twice as a juvenile, beating the likes of Moonfall and Fitzella, before being narrowly denied by Staya in Listed company and again by Revival Power in a Listed contest here.

Having shown to possess plenty of speed over the minimum trip and with the scope for further improvement, a better showing is plausible from the Godolphin colt with course form in his favour.

Newmarket, 15:25 - Back Two Tribes E/W @ 16/117.00

Five-year-old gelding Two Tribes put in a decent effort in the Wokingham Stakes when last seen, beaten five-lengths by Double Rush at odds of 33/134.00 when racing on the far-side of the track, but he's capable of better and landed successive big field handicaps at Ascot and Goodwood respectively last summer.

Now only 1lb higher than his latest win of a 14-runner Meydan handicap in January, having finished second in Listed company since, the Richard Spencer-trained contender could return to form under Oisin Murphy and is one to note each-way.

The son of Rajasinghe has plenty of valuable experience in tough handicaps and is on a mark from which he can be competitive.

York, 15:45 - Back Hand Of God E/W @ 9/110.00

Up 5lb for his Newbury win in May, Hand Of God may be worth keeping onside as he returned to form following his reappearance effort in seventh behind Linwood earlier in the spring. He won the Golden Gates Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2024 before being gelded and absent for 315 days.

Last year, the son of Churchill struggled to return to form but he proved he still retains ability in his latest outing and could build on that performance to land another win. He could still be on a workable mark having shown such promise earlier in his career, and may take another step forward.

July Cup, 16:35, Newmarket - Back Almeraq @ 11/26.50

Almeraq impressed to win the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot, thundering home to defy odds of 25/126.00 in the prestigious Group One sprint. He had previously won a Listed Salisbury contest on reappearance after a 258-day break following a fall at York.

Still unexposed in only his eighth career start, the talented son of Dark Angel could have plenty of further progression to come and is another exciting sprinter in the Shadwell colours. He's a likeable performer who has shown progression throughout his career to date, and could land another valuable prize for William Haggas and Tom Marquand.

Ascot, 17:20 - Back Enola Grey E/W @ SP

Six-year-old mare Enola Grey made a pleasing return to action at Carlisle recently when sixth to Priapos, running well for a long way at odds of 40/141.00 before struggling to sustain her effort in the closing stages. She's dropping back down a furlong to this 7f trip here, now with the benefit of a recent run, which should allow her to put in a competitive effort in this competitive race.

The likeable daughter of Havana Grey has plenty of valuable experience in her favour as she seeks an eighth career success and has often been capable of outrunning her odds in the past. Entitled to take a step forward for her reappearance effort, she makes each-way appeal for Gemma Tutty under Sam James in the Ascot finale.
