Horse Racing Tips: Rhys Williams is taking a two-pronged attack in the bumper at Stratford

• Faced a stronger field that day

• Pottersjetamay is overpriced at Stratford

Stratford - 17:15 - Back Yalla Habibi

Yalla Habibi makes his rules debut after being bought for £42,000 at the Cheltenham April Sale and I think he has a good chance to get off the mark.

On his debut at Oldcastle, he travelled enthusiastically in midfield before making smooth progress after three out to challenge at two out but he made a slight mistake which cost him momentum on the climb at a crucial stage. He rallied and was still close behind in third at the last where he got in a bit tight and couldn't pick up again on the run-in.

The manner in which Yalla Habibi travelled through the race suggests that he should be suited by the test of a bumper and this doesn't look an overly strong race for his rules debut so it would be disappointing if he can't at least be competitive. Any 5/16.00 or bigger appeals.

Stratford - 17:15 - Back Pottersjetamay

Pottersjetamay has some experience under rules having finished sixth in a bumper at Huntingdon last season and I think he has the potential to take a big step forward from that this afternoon.

He raced green at the back of the field early on and continued to show his inexperience at various stages through the race, including when having to be given a reminder towards the end of the back straight where he briefly looked to be struggling. However, he closed on the leading group before being left behind by the front five turning the final bend and could only plug on late to finish sixth.

I think that was a stronger bumper than the one he contests today and the level of inexperience that Pottersjetamay showed suggests that he could take a significant step forward today if racing more professionally.

There is concern that this track might not suit but I'm hoping they will ride him handier than at Huntingdon to try to compensate for that concern and any 8/19.00 or bigger appeals.
