Chaser can make it win number three at Sedgefield
14:50 Sedgefield - Back Lovely Schtuff @ 4.57/2
I'm keeping things fairly simple in the hope of signing off the week with a winner, and I am backing Lovely Schtuff to win at Sedgefield again.
A wind operation in the spring has been of great benefit to the horse - winning two of his four starts since his return this season.
Both have been over course and distance and the better ground is no hindrance either as he dominated one of his market rivals in a novice race (Brotherly Company) at the back-end of August - winning by seven lengths.
He's now up to a mark of 93 and needs a personal best, but he's such a good jumper from the front, there's no reason why he can't go in again as he is already proven in the grade. This is also a winnable race.
Dan can go close for Bailey in feature
16:33 Sedgefield - Back Dandy Dan @ 11.010/1
Kim Bailey's second season chaser Dandy Dan is a little bit of a risky selection as his jumping hasn't always been foot perfect, but he looks a likely candidate to see out the 3m5f for the feature Durham National.
This will be his first run since wind surgery and he hasn't been since running at Cheltenham's Christmas fixture last December - a race in which his jumping let him down and he was pulled up. However, I think his staying power gives him a chance here, especially facing the stiff Sedgefield finish. After all, he did hold a National Hunt Chase entry last term following his run at Ayr.
I also think he could be a better horse with some decent ground going left-handed.
He runs here from top weight from 143 but he could be a far classier horse down the line than some of his rivals. His price around 11.010/1 is big enough to consider playing in the Place market too, and he could trade higher early on as he has gone in snatches previously.
