Puerto Rico Open 2026 - Contenders based on current form
Rasmus Hojgaard @ 12/113.00
The Dane was ninth at the Cognizant last week - his best performance since November - and, in a weaker field that he is used to competing against, could be ready to challenge in Puerto Rico. He was 49th when he came here two years ago, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence, but his top-10 last time out is something to build on.
Taylor Montgomery @ 70/171.00
The American has made a strong start to the year, performing well at consecutive tournaments in South America. First, Montgomery finished seventh at the Panama Championship, then fourth at the Argentina Open last weekend. Similar improvement this week would put him in contention in Puerto Rico, although a missed cut on his last visit is a worry.
Puerto Rico Open 2026 - Contenders based on course form
Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen @ 18/119.00
A winner at the Australian Open as recently as December, this Danish player will be aiming to go one better than his second placed finish here 12 months ago. His best finish this year saw him come 19th at the Dubai Invititational but his performance here last year, which included a final round -9, bodes well for his chances this week.
Matti Schmid @ 50/151.00
Sixth last year and 10th the year before shows the German has an affinity for this week's venue and is one to have onside. What's more he arrives in decent nick, having put a patchy start to 2026 behind him to finish ninth at the Cognizant Classic last week.
