With one tournament on the PGA Tour in the Bahamas and two DP World Tour events being staged this week, one in South Africa and one in Australia, we've got plenty of golf action to evaluate but at the time of writing, 85.084/1 chance, Billy Horschel, is the highest priced player in the line-up at the Hero World Challenge, so all my attention is focused on the two DP World Tour tournaments and I've picked out one selection in each...
Nedbank Golf Challenge bet - Guido Migliozzi @ 160.0159/1
The four-time DP World Tour winner, Guido Migliozzi, has been steadily shortening up all week in the Nedbank Golf Challenge market and I can see why.
As highlighted in the tournament preview, form at Le Golf National in Paris holds up well at the Gary Player Country Club and he won the third of his four titles there two years ago.
With form figures here reading 21-44-31, at first glance, it doesn't look as though it's a venue that suits the 27-year-old Italian, but he shot 67 on the first occasion he played the course, in 2019, to sit third after round one, and he did the same thing three years later on his second visit.
He failed to build on his great starts on both occasions, and he started slowly 12 months ago with a 76 on Thursday but he's shown enough to demonstrate that it's somewhere he can shine.
Migliozzi is an in-and-out performer, but he knows how to win if he does get into contention and there have been a few signs lately that he may just spark into action.
Migliozzi's fifth place finish in the Open de France at Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche in September is his best effort all summer, so he hasn't had a great year, but he ranked second for Scrambling there and as high as fifth for Putting Average last time out at the Genesis Championship at the end of October.
We haven't seen him since he finished tied for 30th in Korea so it's almost impossible to gauge his wellbeing but I'm happy to chance him here at a juicy price, given how prolific he is and how reliable he is in-contention.

Australian Open bet - Ryan van Velsen @ 700/1701.00
It's now almost a year since young South African, Ryan van Velsen, traded at as short as 1.728/11 to win the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek when a column selection at 400.0399/1.
With victory looking likely, he found water with his approach on the 72nd hole and he hasn't really kicked on after that, which is why he hasn't qualified for the Nedbank, but he's hinted at a return to form of late and he's a huge price Down Under for a player with so much promise.
The 24-year-old won on the Sunshine Tour in both 2023 and 2024, and he's played quite nicely in his homeland recently, finishing ninth, second and 11th in his last three starts there.
Having ranked fifth and ninth for Putting Average in his last two starts in South Africa, van Velzen struggled to get to grips with the greens at the Australian PGA Championship last week (ranked 40th for PA) but the fact that he played all four rounds to acclimatise is a positive and he just looks far too big for a player with so much promise.
There are three different ways to play him each-way on the Sportsbook with his price currently ranging from 700/1701.00 to 900/1901.00 depending on how many places you take and he's trading at 1000.0999/1 on the Exchange.
The 900/1901.00 on offer about him with five places is very generous but I like the 700/1701.00 with 12 places up for grabs.
