Cognizant Classic weather forecast for Thursday
Wind speeds are around 5-6mph for the very early starters but they double that in the afternoon and perhaps it could gust at 15mph around 4pm.
Temperatures also rise as the day goes on.
It's a pleasant and sunny start in the morning, moving from the high 60s to early 70s.
The peak of 80 degrees is set to last from 1pm-4pm.
Since scoring got easier at PGA National, the morning starters have dominated this market.
Jake Knapp shot his 59 from an a.m. tee-time, as did the three who finished tied second after 63s.
Looking at R1 leaderboards in the last three editions shows lots of first-round leaders or those placed teeing off before 8am.
S.H. Kim jumps off the page as a first-round leader bet here.
The Korean marked our cards last year when posting 18-hole positions of 2-2-65-5 in his final four events of 2025.
Earlier that year he'd been FRL at the Korn Ferry's AdventHealth Championship and in the tournaments either side he'd ended day one in sixth and seventh respectively.
The fast starts have continued in 2026 as Kim opened with 63s in both the Sony Open and American Express. Both were good enough for third place after the opening lap.
In two events here, he was the joint 18-hole leader on his last visit in 2024 thanks to a 64 while he'd opened with a 68 on debut in 2023.
Add all that to a favourable tee-time of 07:57 (10th hole) and he's a definite play at 70s (1/4 Odds, 5 Places).

Doug Ghim made the Thursday headlines at November's RSM Classic (another Bermuda greens event) with an opening 60. His 20-foot birdie putt for the magical 59 just slid by.
That was the American's second first-round lead in 10 starts as he also topped the day one charts in the John Deere Classic with a 62.
In other words, he doesn't back off when the birdies start flying and Ghim showed that in this event last year when starting out 68-63 to sit third at halfway.
The 29-year-old, who challenged heavily for the Players Championship on another Florida start in 2022, has finished 11th and 16th in the last two Cognizant Classics so seems to have enjoyed the easier conditions having struggled here previously.
We've only seen him make three starts in 2026 but he was 14th at halfway in the Sony Open after a Friday 65 and also opened The American Express with a pair of 68s.
Ghim is one of the very early starters at 06:57 from the 1st and can also be backed at 70s.

When perusing first-round positions, it's very common to see fast starts coming in bunches.
So I won't be put off last week's 18-hole leader, Aaron Rai, on the woolly notion that he couldn't possibly do it again.
Rai set the pace at Riviera with a 66 and added another on day three to sit fourth with a round to play before a disappointing finish.
A winner of the Abu Dhabi Championship in November where he opened 66-64 to hit the front at halfway, Rai has also made several good starts in Florida.
Scanning his 18-hole positions, they include fifth here in 2022, fifth at Bay Hill in 2023 and eighth after day one at last year's Players Championship.
With three top 20s in his last five Florida starts, Rai enjoys the Sunshine State and his straight driving should allow him to set up lots of birdie chances.
