Klaas Jan Huntelaar is a professional footballer who represents the Netherlands in international football.

He was born in Voor-Drempt in 1983 and became involved in football at just the age of five for VV H. En K. Since then, he has gone on to play for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid and Milan.
The Dutchman is a striker and has an excellent goalscoring record in domestic and international football.
When he was 11, Huntelaar signed his first youth contract at De Graafschap. He spent six years there until moving to PSV in 2000.
In his opening season in the youth team at the Eindhoven club, he was the top goalscorer in the league, with 26 goals in 23 games.
Guus Hiddink gave Huntelaar his debut in the senior team at PSV on November 23, 2002 away to RBC Roosendaal in a 3-0 win.
The following season he was sent out on loan to De Graafschap and AGOVV to gain some first team football experience as opportunities were limited at his parent club.
In 2004, Huntelaar rejected a new contract offer from PSV and instead chose to sign for Heerenveen. He scored on his league debut for his new club against AZ. At the end of the Dutchman's opening campaign, he had recorded 19 goals.
In the following season, he had already scored 17 goals when the league took its winter break. That prompted Ajax to pay €9million for his services.
Huntelaar's impressive goalscoring record continued in Amsterdam. He was the Eredisie Top Scorer in 2005-2006 and 2007-2008. He also helped the club win the KNVB Cup in 2006 and 2007.
Ajax received €20million for the striker when he moved to Real Madrid in January 2009. However, his spell in Spain did not last long as, following eight goals in La Liga, he transferred to Milan in August of the same year.
The Netherlands striker was not a regular under manager Leonardo but he did find the back of the net on seven occasions in Serie A.
Huntelaar has spent the past four seasons in Germany playing for Schalke 04. The Bundesliga club paid €14million for him in August 2010 and he has gone on to reward them for paying that fee by becoming a prolific goalscorer for them in the German league.
Since 2006, the Schalke striker has been a regular in the Dutch national football team and has featured for them at the European Championships and in a World Cup.
