What is a Bet Builder?

A Bet Builder is a type of bet on the Betfair Sportsbook that allows customers to combine multiple selections within a single event, therefore enhancing your odds and allowing for potentially big returns.

A Bet Builder is a very popular bet on Football matches, but the feature is also available on NFL games.

Where do I find Bet Builder, what can I bet on?

To create a Bet Builder simply go to the event that you want to build a bet for, and at the top of the event page you will see the Bet Builder tab (see below images for both the Betfair app on Mobile and a Desktop browser).

After clicking on the Bet Builder tab you will see all the different markets that are available to build your bet from.

There are lots of markets available under the Bet Builder tab. In Football markets such as Match Odds, Over/Under Goals, Half-Time, Double Chance, Handicap, Goalscorer, Assists, Team/Player Shots, Fouls, Corners and Cards are among the most popular.

While in NFL you can build a bet from markets such as Moneyline, Handicap, Total Points, Winning Margin, Touchdown Scorer, Passing/Receiving Yards, and Quarter/Half betting.

How do I place a Bet Builder?

Placing a Bet Builder on either the Betfair app (Mobile) or Desktop browser is very simple.

Once you have navigated to the event that you want to build a bet for, select the Bet Builder tab and start adding your selections by clicking on the odds (Desktop) or touching the odds (Mobile) for each selection that you want to add.

Below we have used the Betfair Sportsbook on the Betfair app to create a £10 Bet Builder in the West Ham v Bournemouth Premier League game at odds of just over 6/17.00 (7.38 as decimal odds).

Our selections are West Ham in the Match Odds 90 market, Jarrod Bowen to Score Anytime and Under 3.5 Goals to be scored.

As you can see from the below images there is a section in the Betslip called Singles, and here you can place individual bets on some or all of your Bet Builder selections should you wish to do so.

But we just want to put £10 on all three of our Bet Builder selections combined, so we just type £10 in the box to the right of 6.38/1 odds and then click on the Place Bet tab.

How does a Bet Builder work?

A Bet Builder works in almost exactly the same way that an Accumulator works in that all your selections within your bet must win. If one part of the bet fails to win then the bet will be settled as a loser.

The only difference between a Bet Builder and an Accumulator is that for the former all your selections will be on the same event, whereas for the latter your selections will be across a number of different events.

Why use the Betfair Bet Builder?

Betfair have more markets available than any other competitor, and customers can add as many as 20 selections to a Bet Builder.

If one leg of a Bet Builder is voided (a player you've selected to score a goal doesn't play for example), Betfair allow the bet to carry on with the combined price of the remaining legs (other operators void the entire bet).

Betfair regularly run promotions that offer customers a completely free Bet Builder, or incentives to use the feature, e.g. by giving you a £5 free Bet Builder after wagering £20 on Bet Builders.
