Team Betfair At The 2012 WSOP

Team Betfair At The 2012 WSOP
This is where all the action is right now!

Eastgate was looking to win his second bracelet and looked odds on to day so as he was ultra-deep in Event #56 before busting out in fourth spot; oh so close to an epic win.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few weeks then you will know that the 2012 World Series of Poker has been in full swing in Las Vegas.

Although some members of Team Betfair have been out in "Sin City" for most of the series, the majority of them headed out over the past week or so to play in Event #59, the $1,000 No Limit Hold'em event.

One player who found himself in the comforting bosom of Las Vegas was none other than one of our sponsored pros, former WSOP Main Event champion Peter Eastgate. Eastgate was looking to win his second bracelet and looked odds on to day so as he was ultra-deep in Event #56 before busting out in fourth spot; oh so close to an epic win.

Eastgate is back in action after taking a hiatus from the game and it appears he has another job to fall back on if his return to the felt does not go as planned.

As mentioned, Event #59 was the tournament that had the most Team Betfair players in it, 28 qualifiers according to the official WSOP Team Betfair Blog over on the popular Betfair forums. We had a number of in-the-money finishes but we have to doff our caps to Harald Olsen who was the longest lasting Team Betfair player, busting out in 22nd place for a cool $20,499.

In this video Dave "Helmuthian Folds" Underwood caught up with Olsen and asked him a few questions.

Team Pro John Tabatabai always flies out to Las Vegas for the WSOP but he will be the first to admit that he often spends more time in nightclubs that at the felt but this year he has actually been playing poker. Along with planning on winning the Main Event, what has Mr T been up to since arriving in Las Vegas?

Last but certainly not least is a word from another Team Pro Hans Martin Vogl. You may have noticed that in the above videos there has been a lack of bad beat stories so we thought we would change that right now with our German pro. But his beat was not at the felt, instead he was in Philadelphia. Interested? Sure you are. Check this video out.

That concludes our not-so-little update on all Betfair Poker WSOP adventures. Stay tuned to these very pages where we will hopefully be binging you plenty of updates from our team in the Main Event!
