WSOP Main Event winner Eastgate joins Betfair Poker

Betfair Poker are excited to announce the signing of a new sponsored pro player in Peter Eastgate as well as also securing the services of online star Stefan Raffay.

Eastgate needs little introduction to poker fans as the 26-year-old shot to overnight fame when becoming the youngest player to win the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in 2008.

Raffay will be more familiar to players on Betfair, with the Dane competing not only in high stakes cash games but is also a tournament regular under his alias Betfairy. Successes in the Grand Series of Online Poker (GSOP) as well as other flagship tournaments on other major sites has made him a name to be reckoned with at the tables. As well as online success, Raffay final tabled a WSOP event at last year's tournament winning just short of $150,000 for a fifth place finish in one of the $1000 events.

Eastgate famously auctioned off his 2008 WSOP winner's bracelet for $147,000 donating the money to the charity UNICEF before taking a 10-month hiatus from the poker tables to spend more time with his friends and family back in Denmark.

Currently a London resident, the likable Eastgate has his sights firmly set on scooping another huge prize at this year's WSOP.

The two high stakes players will help marketing efforts in Denmark to promote the site and also an exclusive Danish WSOP promotion where players can win the opportunity to live and play in the same house as the two champions during the tournament this Summer.

The pair will be joined in Las Vegas by fellow Betfair Poker pros John Tabatabai and Hans Vogl giving Betfair Poker plenty of ammunition to hopefully bring some bracelets back to Europe and Team Betfair.
