This weekend saw an amazing 482 players came from 32 different countries to the Poker Royale Card Casino in Wiener Neustadt, Austria to battle it out in the €200 + €20 Betfair Poker Live! Main Event.

Not only was the €50,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool exceeded but it was nearly doubled as €93,505 was paid out in total. The eventual winner of our second Betfair Poker Live! Series was Ardelean Raul from Romania who was crowed champion after three days of solid play. He took home €18, 678 for his efforts!

The runner up for this event was Matthew Ireland from the United Kingdom who cashed for €13,023 .

Although local player Martin Basirich didn't make Final Table, he won the Betfair Bounty Challenge and earnt himself a tidy $1,500 Package to our next Live! Event in Tallinn! Feeling the Betfair Spirit, the Bubble, Roman Steiner, was also given something to celebrate by being handed a HOT! Marathon Pass on Betfair Poker. This entitles him to over $700 worth of Buy Ins for free with over $80,000 in total guarantee!

With cash games a plenty and Sit&Go tournaments being played round the clock, everyone who attended found a game to suit them. We look forward to the next event in Estonia and hope to welcome more players to the Betfair Poker Live! experience.

Absolutely fantastic event. Very much looking forward to Tallin and also to seeing everyone once again.

The Betfair and Casino guys were grand, I never felt like they were working, it was more like they were there to have fun, which I think they did ;)

Unfortunately the casino was a big fat smoking area, but I guess nothing is perfect!

A special thanks to the Betfair guys, in particular to the amazing Peter and Oliver from the German office who were bloody miracoulous with the shuttles between the hotel and casino!

    WP Betfair!

This was truly a resounding success for all the right reasons.

    - Betfair support team were always reachable, decisive and supportive throughout my stay to a point where transport at 2, 4 or 6am was not an issue. They listened to every comment, compliment and complaint and acted on it.

    - The PR ladies employed (even with their dazzling looks aside) were brilliant. After they clocked off, they were amongst the players having a laugh and playing sit n go's with the lads

    - The venue staff (Poker Royale) were extremely supportive and sensible. At times we were loud, but the manner in which they handled the situation was super.

    - Cash games and sit n go's were always available at various levels of buy ins (we asked for a 15 euro sit an go and we got it)
    - guys were finishing off cash games at 8am which for the poker die hard was exceptional.

    - Every Betfair player I met was a friend made.

    Downside
    - hotels and airport shuttle service was too disparate and the following might help:
    a) Try keep all betfair players in the same hotel or within 5 minutes of the venue

    b) possibly hotel package should cover check in from the night before the tournament starts as the early start time of 6pm did result in a few people cutting it fine on arrival to the venue and in all fairness, most guys were shattered.

    c) Do not use ultra cheap hotels - I heard a few gripes about one of the hostels (i mean hotels). We all say, ahhh we just need a bed and we are fine, but if we are wowwed by our hotel, we are inevtiably happier

Summary - best live event i've been to -

"Created by Betfair, Made exciting by the players and sprinkled with magic by Rob Barker!"

    Get in!!!!

    Well..

I don´t think it was THAT good.

    We started late at evrything.
Had to wait about 2 hours for buss to Hotel, with 3 stops before we got to ours. So turney started later, we came to casino 20min after it was surposed to start.

to few breaks in the turney and 1,5 hour dinner break insted of the 45min we was first told.

No one wanted to join the betfair player party, so they closed it after a few hours.

Think alot went wrong that weekend..
