It's Friday, it's cold, it's raining but the little ray of sunshine that is poker blog round-up is here to cheer you up. Well it might not cheer you up but at least it'll pass 10-15 minutes of work time whilst you try and skive off as much as possible until you can go home.
One player I have utmost respect for is Tony "Bond18" Dunst, an Aussie (if my memory serves me right) professional player who is also a pretty talented writer. I first discovered his work when I read his brilliant series on tournament poker, which started off "Things it took me a long time to learn" which would be a good enough reason in itself to post him here but I also liked his recent post called "Moving Forward" which gives a little insight into him away from the tables.
Next out of the bag is a poker professional from Watford, and no it is not Amatay! JoeJoe1337's profile says "Currently on a break from studying and cringe at the thought of myself being a 'professional poker player' despite the fact it's exactly what I am" which is how I imagine other intelligent uni people think. Anyway, it appears JoeJoe1337 is trying to get back into the grove and log a ton of volume so he is attempting to "do a Boku" and turn $200 into $10,000 in one month! He's also going to give $1k to charity if he completes the challenge which is pretty cool of him, may I suggest the Yorkshire Pudding Foundation For Fat Fishes?
I always like finding out intelligent people's opinions on things. Living and working in a pub for a couple of years exposed me to mindless chatter with the occasional golden nugget of information or opinion thrown in. Tommy Angelo is one of the most respected people in the poker community and his blog is visited by thousands every day, mainly because he writes superbly. His most recent entry, "Father Knew Best" is a good read, as is the rest of blog, though it'd probably take you months to read it from start to finish.
If you watched Two Months Two Million you will instantly recognise the name Dani "Ansky" Stern but you may not be aware of his former blogging partner Gugel, who has continued to blog at Ansky Poker after his friend has moved onto pastures new. If you enjoy heads-up poker you should really pay it a visit as there is something for everyone in there including a funny new song which you will find in this post here. Be warned though, it's lyrics are NSFW.
That's all for this week, hope you enjoyed it. As always, thanks for reading and have a great weekend.
