More winners for McCoy?
Carl Harris is posting from his hospital bed where Betfair and UK racing are bringing a smile to his face
"Tony McCoy was unlucky not to have added another to his tally last week with Foxesbow (14:00, Ludlow) who was game in the running but went down by a narrow margin. Connections waste no time in running again before the handicapper has his say and is worth a punt to win here."
Thursday and I find myself studying the form on my rather handy netbook in York General Hospital. I feel absolutely fine, but went to the doctors with a pain that somehow got diagnosed as a potential heart issue. Despite having no classic heart problems I am going to have a test called an angiogram which sounds as appealing as Catterick on the coldest of January afternoons. Tell a lie, Catterick wins by a distance.
So to the racing, which I can cannily watch using Betfair's excellent streaming video service - Betfair Live Video. I am hoping that I will get the all-clear to go home, I don't want to miss the racing on Friday and Saturday, the open meeting at Cheltenham is one of my favourites. It's jumps season proper from that meeting onwards.
So to Thursday where the action comes from Ludlow and Taunton over jumps and Southwell and Wolverhampton (evening) on the all-weather.
Tony McCoy is at the top of the jockeys championship this season, what a shock I hear you say and no doubt that is where he will stay. He was unlucky not to have added another to his tally last week with Foxesbow (14:00, Ludlow) who was game in the running but went down by a narrow margin. Connections waste no time in running again before the handicapper has his say and is worth a punt to win here.
At Southwell you need a horse that goes well on the surface. Angie's Nap (14:20) clearly fits the bill, dropped in to a seller you should make her your Nap too today. Having won her last three races on the surface Angie's Nap should win this very weak looking seller. My best bet of the day.
Carl Harris' Best Bets for Thursday 12 November...
14:00 Ludlow Foxesbow, Win @ [5.5]
14:20 Southwell- Angie's Nap, Win @ [2.1]
