Springbok Betting: Jack can land the big one but I can't resist a saver on Sizzler

Darrell Williams previews Tuesday night's televised action

Hotdog Jack, unbeaten in four starts over hurdles at Wimbledon, can provide Seamus Cahill with a second Springbok victory in four years in front of Sky Sports cameras on Tuesday evening.

The former local handler, these days based across town at Walthamstow, set out to make an ambitious bid to land the novice hurdlers event - and so add to the victory gained by his 2005 winner Druids Mickey Jo - and has been rewarded with two finalists, with Billsdad Bill having also made the line up.

However, it's Hotdog Jack, who unleashed excellent early pace after surprisingly missing his break to account for ante-post rival Beardys Harry in Friday's semi-final that will take an awful lot of stopping in the live TV showdown. With a relative slow starter in Be All drawn on his inside, Hotdog Jack should soon be on the bunny. With Beardys Harry facing the early pace threat of fastest semi-final winner Quivers Punch out wide, it's not hard to envisage the Cahill runner getting loose.

For those who yielded my ante post advice on Hotdog Jack, just a small trade will guarantee a healthy profit, while for those yet to play, the selection still represents a fair price even at this stage,

The Sky Sports card has a certain déjà vu feel to it, with many of last week's participants making a quick return to Plough Lane. Charlie Lister should have few problems in notching up a double with his Derby-bound littermates Farloe Reason and Ninja Jamie. The former, who got within a couple of lengths of Ballymac Under in the Juvenile last Tuesday should relish the straightforward looking task in the 7.40 race, where last year's Derby quarter-finalist Lenson Express looks boxed up in trap four, and Droopys Obafemi will be seeing the south London track for the first time.

Ninja Jamie, who created a big impression when living up to all expectations last week - so much so that even at this stage he's worth adding to any Derby portfolio - can comfortably account for his rivals in the puppy race at 8.35, where useful Calzaghe Ted, could also be hindered by his lack of local form.

While the Lister pair will be well fancied I'm hoping for that Swift Messenger, for me the most interesting runner on the card, might not be too skinny in the six-bend race at 9.10. Michael Harris' bitch, a finalist in last year's Midland Puppy Derby, has not long returned to the track after being off for eight months, but looks a class above her rivals and her chance is boosted after connections brought her down for a trial last week.

I'm probably a sucker for the bitch but I'm prepared to give Broadway Sizzler another chance after last week's defeat, in the Ladies race at 8.00. While old rival Blonde Jeannie will be running in the Arc at Walthamstow, last Tuesday's winner Kilelton Rose is again in the line up. However, with rails cutting Droopys Darina drawn on the inside of the selection, Broadway Sizzler should enjoy plenty of racing room, and is taken to gain her revenge.

I'm also sticking with Kildare Lark in the other hurdle race at 8.15, where a trap one draw - he's won six of his last seven starts when clad in red - should ensure no hiccups this time, after the selection was picked up close home by Firm Handed, who re-opposes, last week.
