I’m very sweet on Goldies Destiny in the third semi at 21.09, who might not have been given the credit he deserves despite clocking the fastest time in the heats.
Magna Buddy (3/1 SP) kept us ahead for the week at Sheffield, and now the attention turns to Romford's Essex Vase semi-finals, where it might be worth looking beyond the obvious.
Romford's Essex Vase remains wide open after last Friday's first round and it may be worth digging a little deeper then usual in tonight's semi-finals.
The first semi-final at 20.35, which features leading ante post hopes Bubbly Totti and Droopys Carvalho, is undoubtedly the trickiest of the three races to solve. If forced to choose, I'd side with Bubbly Totti, who has returned in top form since his comeback from retirement and did nothing wrong in the first round. However there are potentially five front-runners and it's a race I'd rather just watch.
However I'm very sweet on Goldies Destiny in the third semi at 21.09, who might not have been given the credit he deserves despite clocking the fastest time in the heats. Mark Wallis' charge, who only turned two in October, has only had eight runs over the trip, winning five of them, including a 3/5 record over the CD. Perfectly drawn as the sole wide seed, he's a must bet at [3.5] or bigger and is also worth a play ante post at [7.2].
Go Big Hitter is capable of big runs when he gets out as he showed when winning the Essex Vase in September, but is equally ineffective when he doesn't as per the other night. With that in mind I prefer in form Raving Black in the other semi-final at 20.53, who showed plenty of determination to get up on the line in round one to make it three wins in his last four over the 575m trip. Take [3.5] or bigger.
