Daily Bags Bets: Mistley to Lord his manor!

Ed Nicholson's great run continued when he picked another winner yesterday - this time winning at an SP of 3/1. Today he looks at Newcastle....

Mistley Manor looks a decent bet in Newcastle's 5.07pm. The December 2006 whelp has both the fastest sectional time and the fastest finishing time of any greyhound in the contest and he is just one of two in the race who have actually won at this grade, while no dog has won more times than him.

Mistley Manor, from trap three, should lead at the first bend as he has plenty of space in which to operate as both the trap four and two runners are relatively slowly away. Back him at anything better than [3.2].

Crooksblackjack is a greyhound at the top of his game and there is every chance he can complete a remarkable hat trick of victories at Newcastle this afternoon when he contests their A1 event at 2.42pm.

The October 2005 has always been a class dog, but recently he has come back to form winning an A2 and then A3 event without seeing another greyhound. It is true those victories have come in lower grades, and in the six box, but even though he takes on top grade and moves to the five box, he sshould still lead into and out of the first couple of bends. If that was the case I would be confident he would post another time of around 29.60, which would be good enough I think to win here - as long as the fastest dog in the race - the trap two runner - doesnt get away to an unusually quick start.
