Ed Nicholson takes a look at this afternoon's BAGS meeting at Oxford.

Crossness has been racing over six bends of late, but he has decent form over the shorter four bend trip and he can win Oxford's 450 metre A3 contest at 3.53pm this afternoon.

Crossness, drawn from trap three, has early pace akin to his rivals, but he stays well and as long as he misses any bumps and secures a decent break I can see him staying on well up the Sandy Lane home straight.

The September 2005 whelp actually possess the fastest sectional and also has recorded the fastest race time, and he has won more races at Oxford than any of his rivals. Back him at anything over [3.8].

The opening contest at 2.21pm can go to the trap four runner Smarinio Madame. He may be contesting an A9 but he is still genuine, and that is half the battle in these sort of contests. I would be surprised if he didn't lead, and if securing a first bend initaitive I can see him leading all the way. Back him at anythimng over [3.5].
