"However, Swift Blade will run on well and as a recent winning 30.58 seconds shows – he is a fast dog when in the clear. He is nap material tonight and should be backed at anything bigger than [3.0]."
It's the second round of the Produce Stakes at Nottingham tonight and Ed Nicholson picks one out in the 8.51pm. He also goes for an old favourite at Colwick Park....
Swift Blade is a greyhound regular readers of this column will know well. He plys his trade at Nottingham between the four bend and six bend competitions at top grade. I feel he is ideally suited to a strong running A1 where there is plenty of early pace, as he always finishes his races off well, storming up the outside with a late run.
If he doesn't hit any early trouble he is guaranteed to be there or thereabouts and I feel he has a great chance of yet another win at Colwick Park tonight in their 7.52pm.
He runs from trap six, and as long as he misses any trouble from the five dog, he should turn relatively handy. The early pace in trap one and two will mean that the field will be towed along at a fair rate of knots - the danger may come from the trap four runner, Road Station. He is an early paced sort, but could be in the wrong position at the first turn if not getting away to an early lead.

Greenacre Josh (8.51pm) put up a mightily impressive display in the first round heat of the Nottingham Produce Stakes and if turning the first corner in front I doubt anything will catch him based on his latest performance. He flew early (5.05 sectional) recording a rapid 30.40 seconds. If the one dog - Westmead Bolt was to get clear early, then Greenacre Josh could be in a spot of bother off the final bend, but I take the Hondo Black September 2007 whelp to hold on tonight at anything over [4.0].
