"strong>Mill Townboy is once again housed in trap two and he should get a nice tow into the first bend from the speedster in trap three, who finds this 450m trip at this level just a bit too far. I fully expect our fellow to turn in second or third and power through on the inside down the home straight."
Ed Nicholson takes a look at Hove's afternoon card, and at Sunderland's evening card for today's best greyhound bets.
Patience is a virtue. And we have to wait until 9.17pm tonight until the best bet of the day arrives in the form of Mill Townboy at Sunderland.
The November 2006 whelp has been running in handicaps of late, finishing third the last twice he has set paw on the Sunderland track. Those runs came from the back of the stagger and he did well on each occasion. But it's his run on 13th October which really catches the eye.
Having turned just third at the first bend, he sped down the back straight led at half way and simply strode away from is A3 rivals from the trap two position.
Mill Townboy is once again housed in trap two and he should get a nice tow into the first bend from the speedster in trap three, who finds this 450m trip at this level just a bit too far. I fully expect our fellow to turn in second or third and power through on the inside down the home straight.
The only danger is if trap one takes his ground on the run up into and out of the first two turns. But I'm willing to take that risk at anything above [3.8].
The opening race at Hove today (2.08pm) provides a perfect opportunity for the striped jacketed runner, Frankies Diva, to get back to winning ways.
Frankies Diva won in this grade two runs back when displaying good early pace to record a relatively smart 4.28 seconds recording a 31.27 in the process. He bettered that time when upped in class finishing third in 31.07 following crowding.
If he can miss trap five early doors he will take a greta deal of beating this afternoon.
