Causeway Weeone has the fastest sectional (4.74 secs) and fastest recent time (29.73 secs) in this race and has only raced in this grade twice, having previously run with distinction in A3 class. He is better than this and he looks to have been given a gilt edged opportunity by the grader this evening.
Ed Nicholson travels to Newcastle and Nottingham for two BAGS bets to smash into today..
Causeway Weeone is taken to land the 7.01pm at Newcastle tonight and should be backed at anything over [3.5]. The February 2007 whelp has electric speed from the traps for one in this A4 grade, and he should not be led as they approach the first turn. If he can poach a two length lead coming out of the second turn, which on form lines looks more probable than not, I expect him to be too far ahead to be caught by the staying dogs in this contest.

The trap two runner is quick over the first 70 metres and there is a slight concern he'll get in our fellow's way on the run up to that all important first bend. But the real danger may come from the striped jacketed runner, On the Double. But that one is having his first race for some time and may need a race or two to blow away the cobwebs. But he is better grade than this when on song and is a real threat.
The final race on Nottingham's matinee BAGS card provides us with an opportunity with the downgraded Roscoes Bebebe in trap four (1.51pm Nottingham). Although not blessed with early speed, today's race make up means he may well turn handier than in recent runs behind some dubious stayers here. Don't get me wrong, he isn't too slow away from the traps and he could actually be in second place out of the first two turns.
However, the main reason for supporting him is that given a relatively clean race he would have to be a short priced favourite to beat these in terms of pure speed over 500m. he has been racing in A2 grade recently - the last time he was allowed to partake in A3 he won breaking 31 seconds - a time no other dog in this race has got near recently. He recently trialeed at Monmore, which may actually freshen him up for a return to Colwick Park and he is expected to be mighty difficult to beat this afternoon. Back him at anything over [3.0].
